Cross Country Season Underway
Cross country teams saw their season get underway last week at the Killdeer Early Bird meet on Friday, Aug. 21.
On the boys’ side in the 3,000 meters varsity run, Bowman County took home first place as a team with a score of 36, followed by New Town with 87, Dickinson Trinity with 103, Kenmare-Bowbells with 116 and Southern McLean rounding out the top five with 122. Stanley was eighth with 268; Parshall, 13th with 383; and Lewis and Clark NSP, 17th with 533.
Warner Bowman of Bowman County was first with a time of 10:17. New Town’s Kade Lambert was second with 10:37; Tekoah Hood, 7th with 11:14; Creedance Fox, 20th with 12:12; Tracy Lyson, 28th with 12:40; Brycen Bell, 30th with 12:54; Sean Lyson, 38th with 13:09.50; Dane Young Bird, 41st with 13:11.50; Jameson Irwin, 47th with 13:22; Clarky Knight, 49th with 13:30; Rising Eagle Heart, 63rd with 14:24; Kyson Looking Horse, 74th with 14:46; and Andres Villafuerte, 89th with 15:43. Stanley’s Payton Harper was 23rd with 12:31; Isaak Longmuir, 31st with 12:56; Trent Bohrer, 40th with 13:11; Jaxton Cossette, 84th with 15:29; Griffin Wilson, 90th with 15:48; and Tyson Durfee, 99th with 17.29. Delmer Crowsbreast of Lewis and Clark NSP was 70th with 14:35; Oscar Braaflat, 78th with 15:00; and Camden Lee, 80th with 15:12.
In the boys’ sixth grade 1,600 meters race, Stanley’s James Kuster was first with a time of 6:11.00; Hogan Schepp, 3rd with 6:27.00; Tate Durfee, 5th with 6:33.00; and Cohen Nelson, 8th with 7:52.00.
In the girls’ 3,000 meters varsity run, Bowman County was first with a score of 23, followed by Stanley with 89, Dickinson Trinity with 111, New Town with 146, and Killdeer rounding out the top five with 177. Parshall was 8th with 227 and Lewis and Clark NSP was 15th with 392.
Individually, Carley Bullinger of Dickinson Trinity was first with a time of 12:11. Parshall’s Haydyn Chase was 4th with 12:41; Jade Johnson, 32nd with 14:59; Victoria Miranda, 47th with 16:00; and Rhyleigh Miranda, 62nd with 17:16. Stanley’s Annie Roise was 11th with 13:27; Jessy Roise, 14th with 13:39; Charley Reum, 16th with 13:52; Henzlie Longmuir, 21st with 14:11; Hadley Reum, 27th with 14:36; Teigan Moe, 40th with 15:13; Mya Anderson, 49th with 16:12; Holly Schow, 57th with 16:39; and Cassidee Harper, 74th with 18:45. New Town’s Hadley Drosdal was 18th with 14:06; Tori Hale, 20th with 14:08; Parker LeBeau, 25th with 14:26; Eva Knight, 28th with 14:45; Cedar Fitzsimmons, 30th with 14:55; Inaani Wilson, 46th with 15:38; Starla McIntosh, 60th with 17:00; Kalgaree Spotted Horse, 61st with 17:12; Adriene Johnson, 66th with 17:50; Marley Danks, 75th with 19:07; Shaya Heart, 76th with 19:09; and Ilse Rojas, 77th with 19:20. Shelbie Myers of Lewis and Clark NSP was 58th with 16:46.
In the girls’ sixth grade 1600 meter run, Eva Anderson of Stanley was first with a time of 7:32; Berkley Schepp, 7th with 7:48; and Elliott Essler, 8th with 7:50.
This year’s Blue Jay cross country team is seeing good numbers. Seniors are Kolton Longmuir, Logan Longmuir and Annie Roise. This year’s juniors include stats Brooklyn Kennedy and Kaylynn Jones; and runners Teigan Moe, Payton Sheffield and Griffin Wilson. Sophomores are Rio DeTienne and Jessy Roise. Freshmen are Payton Hunting, Larson Fjeldahl, Tyson Durfee, Pierce Tronset, River DeTienne, Hadley Reum, Trent Bohrer and Payton Harper. Eighth graders are Mya Anderson, Cassidee Harper, Isaak Longmuir, Kiel Rameden and Dylan Guerrero Ledesma. Seventh graders are Marshall Fjeldahl, Jaxton Cossette, Chance Drosdal, Cash Murphy, Holly Schow, Henzlie Longmuir and Charley Reum.
