Blue Jay Girls Drop Games To Turtle Mountain And DLB

Stanley’s varsity girls’ basketball team had two games on their schedule last week. On Monday, Jan. 27, they hosted Turtle Mountain, dropping the game with a score of 45 to 75. On Thursday, Jan. 30, they traveled to Burlington, dropping their game to the Lakers with a score of 20 to 63.

The Blue Jays hosted the Turtle Mountain Braves. The Braves held a 23 point lead at the end of the first quarter, adding to that lead in the next two quarters on their way to the 75 to 45 victory.
As a team, Stanley made 13 of their 37 two point attempts and 4 of their 16 three point attempts. They made 7 of their 9 free throw attempts. That compared to 21 of 51 two point, 6 of 21 three point and 15 of 20 free throw attempts for Turtle Mountain.
The Blue Jays had 10 offensive and 19 defensive rebounds. They had 14 assists, 12 steals and 6 blocks. They committed 34 turnovers. Turtle Mountain had both 24 offensive and defensive rebounds, 18 assists, 27 steals, 5 blocks and committed 25 turnovers.
Brinley Larson led the team with 16 points, followed by Annie Roise with 12, Harley DeTienne and Jacee Johnson with 5 each, Lexi Neset with 4 and CeeJay Bohmbach with 3.
Brinley Larson had 6 rebounds, followed by CeeJay Bohmbach with 4, Jacee Johnson and Annie Roise with 3 each, Harley DeTienne and Payton Lystad with 2 each, and Lexi Neset, Teigan Moe and Jaymlin Gustafson with 1 each.

Stanley vs. DLB
The Blue Jays were on the road on Thursday, Dec. 30 facing the DesLacs-Burlington Lakers. The Lakers took a 13 point lead at the end of the first quarter, extending their lead to 26 at the half on their way to the 63 to 20 win.
As a team, Stanley made 8 of their 29 two point attempts and 1 of their 14 three point attempts. They converted 1 of their 6 free throws. The Lakers made 18 of their 36 two point, 7 of their 18 three point, and 6 of their 13 free throw attempts.
The Blue Jays had 8 offensive and 15 defensive rebounds. They had 6 assists, 11 steals and 5 blocks. They committed 26 turnovers. The Lakers had 13 offensive and 26 defensive rebounds, 18 assists, 21 steals and committed 18 turnovers.
Taya Niemitalo and Annie Roise led the team with 7 points each, followed by CeeJay Bohmbach with 4 and Brinley Larson with 2.
