Blue Jays Drop Game To Lakers

The Stanley Blue Jays hosted the DesLacs-Burlington Lakers on Friday, Sept. 13 for their homecoming game, dropping the game by a score of 13 to 33.
The Lakers got on the board in the first quarter with a 40 yard rushing touchdown by Jacob Schaefer with the two point conversion attempt failing. They also put up the second score of the game late in the second quarter on a one yard carry by Schaefer with the two point conversion pass from Schaefer to Jayden Davis good, leaving the Lakers with the 14 to 0 lead at the half.
The Lakers scored again on a four yard carry by Schaefer with the two point conversion failing. They then took advantage of a Blue Jay fumble to return the ball for 46 yards and the score. The two point attempt failed again, leaving the score at 26-0 at the end of the third quarter.

Stanley’s Drake Schlosser took the ball in on a quarterback keeper for 2 yards to start the fourth quarter scoring with the two point conversion attempt failing. DLB responded with another rushing touchdown, this time for 44 yards by Schaefer with the point after kick by Jacob Schaefer good. The final score of the game came on a 20 yard pass from the Blue Jays’ Drake Schlosser to Casyn Bieri with the point after kick by Jonathan Chavez good to set the final score at 33 to 13 in favor of DLB.
The Blue Jays had 170 yards rushing on 32 carries and 32 yards passing on four completions. The Lakers had 321 yards rushing on 48 carries and 51 yards passing on 6 completions.

Rushing: Drake Schlosser had 103 yards on 18 carries with one touchdown; Max Jackson, 4 carries for 30 yards; Casyn Bieri, 8 carries for 24 yards; and Trey Bohmbach, 2 carries for 13 yards.
Passing: Drake Schlosser completed 4 of 10 passing attempts for 32 yards and 1 touchdown; Casyn Bieri completed 0 of 2 attempts.
Receiving: Casyn Bieri had 1 catch for 20 yards and 1 touchdown; Kane Reep, 1 catch for 5 yards; Max Jackson, 1 catch for 4 yards; and Oscar Garcia, 1 catch for 3 yards.
Punting: Drake Schlosser had 3 punts for a total of 107 yards.
Kickoff: Jonathan Chavez had 3 kickoffs for a total of 83 yards.
Returns: Jacob Roses had 1 punt return for 8 yards; Drake Schlosser had 2 kickoff returns for 53 yards; Oscar Garcia had 2 kickoff returns for 9 yards; and Kayden Uran had 1 kickoff return for 1 yard.
