Athletes Shine At State Track

The State Track Meet was held at the Community Bowl on the campus of Bismarck State College from Thursday, May 21 through Saturday, May 23. Athletes from throughout the county shone in their various events throughout the three days, including making the best of a rainy Friday afternoon.
On the Class B boys’ side, Oak Grove was first as a team with 67 points, followed by Bowman County with 63, Lamoure/Litchville-Marion with 50, Hazen with 43 and Grafton rounding out the top five with 42. Stanley finished in 15th with 19 team points and New Town was 18th with 15.
On the Class B girls’ side, Hillsboro/Central Valley was first with 74 team points, followed by Central Cass with 51.5, Rolette/Wolford with 39, New Rockford-Sheyenne with 35, and Lisbon and Velva-Drake/Anamoose tied for fifth with 32.
Girls Events:
In the 100 meters, Ella Pederson of Rolette/Wolford was first with a time of 12.16 in finals. Leah Newman of Parshall was 28th in preliminaries with a time of 13.14.
In the 200 meters, Anya Olson of VDA was first with a time of 24.43 in finals. Leah Newman of Parshall was 18th in preliminaries with a time of 27.08.
In the 1600 meter run, Claire Grinde of H/CV was first with a time of 4:55.34. Parshall’s Haydyn Chase was 12th with 5:24.91.
In the 3200 meter run, Claire Grinde of H/CV was first with a time of 10:45.49. Parshall’s Haydyn Chase was 9th with 11:51.49.
In the 100m hurdles, Addison Shepp of Beulah was first in finals with a time of 15.26. Stanley’s Jessa Longmuir was 16th in preliminaries with a time of 17.42 and Keilana Uran was 17th with a time of 17.56.
In the 4x800 relay, Hillsboro/Central Valley was first with a time of 9:44.52. Stanley was 22nd with a time of 10:55.82 with team members Jessy Roise, Teigan Moe, Evy Davis and Annie Roise.
In the shot put, Dagan Slade of Nelson County was first with a distance of 47’5”. Harper Mortensen of Lewis and Clark NSP was 14th with 33’6”.
In the pole vault, Ellery Qual of Lisbon was first with a height of 10’9”. Stanley’s Payton Lystad competed by did not clear the opening height.
Boys Events:
In the 200 meters, Jaran Reinhardt of Hazen was first in finals with a time of 22.03. Stanley’s Zeke Wienbar finished 19th in preliminaries with a time of 23.47.
In the 400 meters, Jaran Reinhardt of Hazen was first in finals with a time of 48.78. Stanley’s Zeke Wienbar was 9th in finals with a time of 52.31.
In the 800 meters, Owen Johnson of Northern Cass was first with a time of 1:55.60. New Town’s Lukas Spotted Bear was third with 1:56.87; Kade Lambert, 13th with 2:04.43; and CJ Freeman, 16th with 2:04.79.
In the 1600 meters, Owen Johnson of Northern Cass was first with a time of 4:15.15. New Town’s Lukas Spotted Bear was 9th with 4:31.72; Kade Lambert, 11th with 4:38.28; CJ Freeman, 13th with 4:40.56; and Tekoah Hood, 22nd with 4:50.36.
In the 3200 meters, Owen Johnson of Northern Cass was first with a time of 9:22.94. Kade Lambert of New Town was 8th with 10:04.95; CJ Freeman, 9th with 10:05.04; Lukas Spotted Bear, 17th with 10:26.33; and Tekoah Hood, 25th with 11:01.80.
In the 110m hurdles, August Miller of Grafton was first with a time of 15.12 in finals. Stanley’s Austin Kanenwisher was 13th in preliminaries with a time of 16.58. Parshall’s Logan Hoff was 17th with 17.08 and Mahki Packineau was 18th with 17.22.
In the 300m hurdles, Gunner Thielges of LLM was first with a time of 38.91 in finals. Stanley’s Oscar Garcia was 12th in preliminaries with a time of 42.27.
In the 4x100 relay, Lamoure/Litchville-Marion was first in finals with a time of 43.31. Stanley was 20th in preliminaries with a time of 46.37 with team members Kolton Longmuir, Logan Longmuir, Oscar Garcia and Austin Kanenwisher.
In the 4x200 relay, Grafton was first in finals with a time of 1:29.87. Stanley was 11th in preliminaries with a time of 1:32.57 with team members, Kolton Longmuir, Logan Longmuir, Oscar Garcia and Zeke Wienbar.
In the 4x400 relay, Hazen was first with a time of 3:24.79. Stanley finished in fourth with a time of 3:29.01 with team members Logan Longmuir, Oscar Garcia, Kolton Longmuir and Zeke Wienbar. New Town was 16th with team members Treyvionne Williams, Tekoah Hood, Louden Haugen and Jemaul Williams.
In the 4x800 relay, Bowman County was first with a time of 8:18.29. New Town was second with a time of 8:24.97 with team members Kade Lambert, CJ Freeman, Tekoah Hood and Lukas Spotted Bear.
In the discus, Andrew Matt of Carrington was first with a distance of 163’7”. Stanley’s Ben Hynek was second with 152’5”.
Shot put: Jack Mattson of Hillsboro/Central Valley was first with a distance of 54’7”. Stanley’s Ben Hynek was third with 49’6”.
Pole vault: Trevon Quam of Central Cass was first with a height of 14’9”. Stanley’s Landon Goettle and Hugh Jackson competed, but failed to clear the starting height.
