Mountrail County Pink Ladies Hold Gala

Mountrail County Pink Ladies Hold Gala

The Mountrail County Pink Ladies held their 2025 year-end gala at the Mountrail County South Complex in Stanley on Saturday, Jan. 10. The event was an evening designed to honor strength, celebrate hope and support survivors. It started with a social hour, followed by supper, sponsor recognition and special guests. The evening wrapped up with a live music by The Mollies and dancing.
The Mountrail County Pink Ladies are a group of individuals from Mountrail County who encourage and empower each other, our communities and most of all those who are fighting a battle with cancer. They support all cancer patients, not just breast cancer patients. They want to help support men, women and children with whatever cancer battle it may be.
Over the past year, they have held several fundraising events including dart tournaments and a golf tournament to help raise funds for their cause. They have donated to twelve different patients and families that are fighting that battle with cancer and are hoping to double that next year.
They are always accepting new members with their membership form available on their Facebook page.
The Mountrail County Pink Ladies organized in January of 2025. They currently have 34 members from throughout Mountrail County and surrounding communities, including five men.
They started with a group that wanted to start a women’s dart league. In their research they found Randy Oliver of South Dakota who started a Pink Ladies dart association. The Pink Ladies organization continues to grow with chapters in five states. Mountrail County is one of five organizations currently in the state. While they may come from the smallest communities, they are proud to have one of the largest memberships.

While so far most of their events have been dart and golf tournaments, they are looking to spread out to other activities in the coming year. That includes working with the fire departments in Stanley, New Town and Parshall to host blood drives. They are hoping to schedule a 5K Color Run in either May or June of this year. They are always looking for activities throughout the county to team up and provide awareness of their cause.
Through the support of sponsors, they give back all of the money they raise as they raise it. They have also been able to secure office space in Parshall, in part through the help of the Mountrail County JDA.
The organization is looking for nominees for this year. They have funded the requests they had for 2025. Nominees must live in Mountrail County.
The Mountrail County Pink Ladies reorganized their board at their meeting this month. Jessi Baker serves as president. Lori Brugh is the vice-president. Sara Hawkinson is the secretary and Nicole Poitra is the treasurer. Directors are Scott Donovan and Trista Marsette, with Kayla Watterud nominated to fill the open director position for 2026.
You can learn more about their organization and upcoming events on their Facebook page: Mountrail County Pink Ladies. Their nomination forms and membership forms are also available on that page. The best way to contact the organization is also through messenger on their Facebook page.
You can also support the organization with monetary donations. You can volunteer time or services and help spread the word by engaging with them on social media. They also accept donations of blankets, toiletries, coloring items, activity books, and auction items for future events.
