Lions Hold Final Burgers In The Park
The Stanley Lions held their third and final burgers in the park on Monday, Aug. 10. The Lions Club holds the summer barbecues on the second Monday of the month during the summer with each month’s proceeds going to different entities.
Proceeds from this event were donated to the SACK program. With BBH Insurance and Thrivent as the food sponsors, the Lions were able to donate $2,000 from this month.
Other organizations receiving funds this year were the Ina Ma Rude Aquatic Center in June and the Stanley Park District in July.
The Stanley Lions Club does not meet during the summer months, so Burgers in the Park gives them and the community an opportunity to get together for a good cause.
