Busy Weekend At The South Complex
It was a busy weekend at the Mountrail County South Complex and the fair building as the Farmers Market’s Harvest Festival and the ND Equine Association Cowboy Fall Festival were taking place.
The Stanley Farmer’s Market and Mountrail County Garden Club hosted their annual Harvest Festival on Saturday, Sept. 19 at the South Complex.
The annual event offered something for everyone. Farmers market participants had fresh produce, homemade treats, and merchandise. They were joined by other vendors selling everything homegrown and homemade.
BNC served a free community appreciation lunch featuring walking tacos with participants from both events enjoying the treat.
The North Dakota Equine Association brought their Cowboy Fall Festival back to the Mountrail County Fair Building on Saturday, Sept. 19 and Sunday, Sept. 20.
The two days offered something for all ages including children’s activities, pony rides and entertainment including the equine trail sports obstacle challenge, youth ranch rodeo and showdeo.
All ages are able to take part both two days, testing their horsemanship with the Equine Trail Sports obstacle courses. This is the competition where the rider choose their own ‘level’ at each obstacle for a great but doable challenge. There were in-hand and riding competitions. Saturday featured the youth ranch rodeo, while Sunday had the youth showdeo.
Vendors were set up both days. Kids also had the chance to get pony rides and play in the kiddy korral.
The North Dakota Equine Association is a charitable non-profit organization that supports North Dakota’s horse industry through educational events and clinics, promotion of horse related groups and activities, and serves as a means of communication by furthering common interests of horse persons in North Dakota.
