BIO Girls In Stanley Wraps Up Second Session

BIO Girls In Stanley Wraps Up Second Session

BIO Girls was offered in Stanley again this year for girls in grades two through six. The twelve week program moved to Let It Be on Main Street this year.
Their finale event was held on Saturday, Sept. 26 with a 5K run/walk, something the girls had been working toward since their very first session in July. Week after week, they had been building confidence, friendships, strength, resilience, while having a whole lot of fun. On Saturday, they got to celebrate all of that hard work by crossing the finish line. They teamed up with the Stanley High School Student Council and their Doggie 5K Run/Walk as part of Homecoming Week. About 40 runners and walkers, along with many dogs, finished the race on the Stanley High School track.
BIO stands for Beautiful Inside & Out. Sessions consist of devotions, large group and small group discussion, journaling and then end with a physical activity outdoors. The program is designed to help young girls grow, develop self-esteem and empower others through connection and physical activity. The curriculum revolves around four pillars: Mental Wellness, Healthy Relationships, Leadership and Kindness.
BIO Girls curriculum is evidence-based and research-proven. They equip participants with the skills necessary to combat societal pressures and recognize their inherent values. The program is currently available in North Dakota, Minnesota, South Dakota, Iowa and Wisconsin.
Founded in 2013 in Fargo, BIO Girls has grown to positively impact thousands of girls each year across the five-state region through its volunteer-led, 12-week program. By blending life-skills lessons, small-group mentoring, and non-competitive physical activity, BIO Girls empowers participants to navigate societal pressures, understand their worth, manage stress, and choose kindness. Backed by research, the program has consistently demonstrated a significant boost in participants’ self-esteem. To learn more about how BIO Girls is making a difference, visit biogirls.org. Your daughter can gain increased self-esteem, improved character traits such as kindness and empathy, a deeper sense of connection, and skills for positive mental wellness from the BIO Girls program. It aims to empower girls to believe in their inherent worth and build a positive relationship with themselves and others.
