Wrestlers In Dual Tournament Action

The Blue Jay varsity boys’ wrestlers were in action at the region team dual event in Tioga on Saturday, Feb. 7. The top two teams would advance to the State Dual Tournament set for Saturday, Feb. 21 at the Fargodome.
In the first round, Kenmare/Bowbells/Burke Central faced DLB, coming out with the 36-18 win. Velva, Stanley and Williams County all had first round byes. In the semifinals, Velva topped KBBC with a score of 60 to 16 and Williams County topped Stanley with a score of 48 to 21. Stanley defeated DLB in the consolation semifinals with a score of 49 to 22 while KBBC had a bye. Velva took home the region title, defeating Williams County with a score of 51 to 17, while Stanley took home third with a 41-33 win over KBBC.
