Wrestlers Host Final Home Dual; In Action At Tournaments
Stanley’s varsity wrestlers hosted their final home dual of the season when the DLB Lakers came to town on Thursday, Dec. 12. The Lakers claimed the 40 to 29 win as a team.
Individual results for the Blue Jays were as follows:
At 107 pounds, Levi Nichols won by fall at :47 over Cooper Rakness.
At 114 pounds, Chase Brown lost by fall at 3:43 to Tucker Miller.
At 121 pounds, Louden Haugen won by fall at :16 over Brody Hansen.
At 127 pounds, Cohen Bell won by fall at 1:52 over Maverick Trowbridge.
At 133 pounds, Anthony Nardacci lost by fall at 1:07 to Easton Hansen.
At 139 pounds, Brayden Fritel lost on a 5-0 decision to Shawn Barrette.
At 145 pounds, Dane Dunham won on an 18-3 tech fall at 5:31 over Jamison Nelson.
At 152 pounds, Kane Reep lost by fall at 1:27 to Breyden Buee.
At 160 pounds, Colter Fladeland won by forfeit with DLB open.
At 172 pounds, Ace Johnson lost by fall to Jack Smith of DLB.
At 189 pounds, Griffin Wilhelmi lost on an 11-0 major decision to Kenny Smith.
At 215 pounds, Johnathan Smith of DLB won by forfeit with Stanley open.
At 285 pounds, Levi Uran lost on a 7-0 decision to Carter Kaul.
The Blue Jay boys were in action at the Kenmare Invitational on Friday, Dec. 13. Williams County took home first place as a team with a score of 154.5, followed by Kenmare/Bowbells/Burke Central with 152, Northern Lights with 150.5, DLB with 101 and Stanley rounding out the top five with 92 team points.

At 107 pounds, Chase Brown took home first place. He won his first round match by fall at 5:07 over Angus Wolla of Williams County. He lost this next match on an 18-6 major decision to Jarrett Bilby of Velva. He came back to win his next match on an 11-6 decision over Braden Brossart of Rugby and followed that up with a sudden victory overtime win with a score of 13-20 over Cam Peterson of KBBC.
At 127 pounds, Cohen Bell placed second. He won his quarterfinal match by fall at 1:50 over Nickolas Polglaze of Williams County and followed that up with a win by fall at 1:20 over Kayden Houle of Northern Lights in semifinals. In the championship match, he lost on a 4-2 decision to Bode Henderson of Northern Lights to take second place.
At 133 pounds, Brayden Fritel had a bye in the first round. He lost his quarterfinal match on an 8-3 decision to Easton Hansen of DLB. He won his next match on a 19-15 decision over Lleyton Spear of KBBC, but lost his next match on a 6-3 decision to Alfred Short of Northern Lights to end his tournament action.
At 139 pounds, Thosten Lidstrom placed sixth. After a first round bye, he lost his quarterfinal match by fall at 2:32 to Levi Jensen of Williams County. He had a bye in the next two rounds and then lost his consolation semifinal on a 16-1 tech fall at 2:31 to Carson Brunelle of Williams County. In the fifth place match, he lost on a 17-2 tech fall at 3:59 to Shawn Barrette of DLB.
At 145 pounds, Dane Dunham placed third. He won his quarterfinal match by fall at 3:28 over Kipp McDougall of Northern Lights. In semifinals, he lost by fall at 2:56 to Walker Sheldon of Williams County. He came back to win the consolation semifinal by fall at 3:22 over Koda Jeanotte of Northern Lights. In the third place match, he won on a 6-3 decision over Kipp McDougall of Northern Lights.
At 152 pounds, Kane Reep placed fourth. After a first round bye, he won his quarterfinal match on a 3-0 decision over Gage Mudderman of Stanley. In semifinals, he lost by fall at 1:18 to William Cook of KBBC. He won his consolation semifinal on a 14-9 decision over Tavin Skalicky of Williams County. In the third place match, he lost by fall at 1:49 to Jeremiah Schmidt of Williams County.
At 152 pounds, Gage Mudderman placed sixth. He lost his quarterfinal match on a 3-0 decision to Kane Reep of Stanley. After a bye in the next round, he won his next match by fall at 3:12 over Connor Lopez of Rugby. He lost his consolation semifinal by fall at 3:08 to Jeremiah Schmidt of Williams County. In the fifth place match, he lost on a 15-5 major decision to Tavin Skalicky of Williams County.
At 160 pounds, Colter Fladeland placed fourth. After a first round bye, he lost his quarterfinal match by fall at 5:48 to Lexton Smith of Velva. He came back to win his next match by fall at 2:42 over Alex Short of Northern Lights and followed that up with a 7-5 decision win over Triden Thull of Williams County. He won his consolation semifinal on a 3-0 decision over Jack Smith of DLB. In the third place match, he lost on a 15-0 tech fall at 3:50 to Lexton Smith of Velva.
