Volleyball Team Wraps Up Regular Season With Win

The Stanley Blue Jays varsity volleyball team had their last regular season match on Monday, Nov. 3 when they hosted Killdeer. The Blue Jays took home the victory in straight sets with scores of 25-10, 25-11 and 25-22.
As a team, they had 19 assists, 21 kills, 9 aces, 28 digs and 7 blocks.
Tylie Johnson led the team with 10 assists, followed by Maycee Copeland with 6, Taya Niemitalo with 2 and Khloe Jemtrud with 1.
Annie Roise had 5 kills, followed by Brenna Wenger with 4, Dani Hermanson and Tylie Johnson with 3 each, Maycee Copeland with 2, and Taya Niemitalo, Khloe Jemtrud, McKenzie Bohrer and McKenna Jones with 1 each.
Brenna Wenger had 3 aces, followed by Dani Hermanson and Khloe Jemtrud with 2 each, and Tylie Johnson and Maycee Copeland with 1 each.
Dani Hermanson had 7 digs, followed by Maycee Copeland with 6, Hannah Warta and McKenna Jones with 4 each, Brenna Wenger with 3, and Taya Niemitalo, Khloe Jemtrud, McKenzie Bohrer and Annie Roise with 1 each.
Annie Roise had 2.5 blocks, followed by Dani Hermanson and Brenna Wenger with 2 each and Maycee Copeland with .5.

Up Next: The Blue Jays entered the Region 3 Tournament at the Minot State University Dome as the number five seed. Action started on Monday, Nov. 10 with Stanley facing Rugby in the first match of the day, followed by DLB vs. Nedrose and wrapped up with Bottineau vs. Turtle Mountain. South Prairie/Max had a bye in the first round. Winners advanced to Tuesday’s semifinal matches. The tournament concludes on Thursday, Nov. 13 with the third place match at 5:30 p.m. followed by the championship. The champion will advance to the State Tournament in Bismarck set for November 20 through 22. The second and third place teams will advance to state qualifier matches set for Saturday, Nov. 15 at Bismarck St. Mary’s starting at 1:00 p.m. with the Region 3 #2 vs. the Region 4 #3 and followed by the Region 4 #2 vs. the Region 3 #3.
