Volleyball Team Splits Matches, In Action In Glenburn

The Stanley varsity girls’ volleyball team had two regular season matches on their schedule last week, winning on the road in Tioga and losing on the road in Berthold. The team was also in action at the Glenburn Tournament.
Stanley vs. Tioga
On the road on Tuesday, Sept. 10, the Blue Jays met up with the Tioga Pirates. Stanley won the first set with a score of 25-22, but Tioga rallied back to take the second set 25-13. The Blue Jays took the next two sets with scores of 25-11 and 25-21 to take the match.
Halle Larson led the team with 15 assists, followed by Tylie Johnson with 8.
Jordee Skaar had 9 kills, followed by Trenedi Barstad and Annie Roise with 5 each, Karley Jemtrud with 4, Halle Larson and Brenna Wenger with 3 each, and Tylie Johnson with 2.
Karley Jemtrud and McKenna Jones each had 3 aces, followed by Tylie Johnson with 2, and Halle Larson and Jordee Skaar with 1 each.
McKenna Jones had 23 digs, followed by Halle Larson with 17, Tylie Johnson with 11, Brenna Wenger with 8, Jordee Skaar with 7, Trenedi Barstad with 5 and Annie Roise with 3.
Brenna Wenger and Annie Roise each had 1 block.

Stanley vs. Berthold
On the road again on Thursday, Sept. 12, the Blue Jays faced the Berthold Bombers. Berthold claimed the first set with a score of 25 to 20 and followed that up with wins of 25-17 and 25-14 to claim the straight set victory over the Blue Jays.
Halle Larson had 11 assists, followed by Tylie Johnson with 5.
Jordee Skaar had 6 kills, followed by Brenna Wenger and Annie Roise with 3 each, Trenedi Barstad and Karley Jemtrud with 2 each, and Tylie Johnson and Taya Niemitalo with 1 each.
Tylie Johnson had 1 ace.
