Volleyball Team Opens Season
Stanley’s varsity volleyball team opened their season at home on Tuesday, Sept. 3 when they hosted North Shore/Plaza. They were also in action on Saturday, Sept. 7 at the Coal Country Tournament.

The Blue Jays opened their season at home hosting a match against North Shore/Plaza this year. The Blue Jays took the first set with a score of 25-13 and followed that up with wins of 25-20 and 25-13 to take the match in straight sets.
Halle Larson led the team with 13 assists, followed by Tylie Johnson with 9.
Jordee Skaar had 10 kills, followed by Annie Roise with 7, Halle Larson and Brenna Wenger with 4 each, McKenna Jones with 2 and Trenedi Barstad with 1.
Jordee Skaar had 4 aces, followed by Halle Larson with 3, and Trenedi Barstad, Karley Jemtrud and Annie Roise with 1 each.
Halle Larson had 10 digs, followed by Jordee Skaar with 9, Karley Jemtrud with 6, McKenna Jones with 4, and Trenedi Barstad, Jaymlin Gustafson, Annie Roise and Tylie Johnson with 2 each.
Jordee Skaar and Annie Roise each had two blocks, followed by Brenna Wenger and Trenedi Barstad with 1 each.

Coal Country Tournament
The Blue Jays were at the annual Coal Country Tournament held in Beulah and Hazen on Saturday, Sept. 7. While this tournament is usually held as a season opener, it was pushed back a week this year due to the Labor Day holiday weekend.
The Blue Jays played six different matches in this tournament. They split their match with New Salem with scores of 17-25 and 25-20. They lost to Dickinson with scores of 20-25 and 18-25 before splitting with the Watford City JV with scores of 25-19 and 20-25. They lost their next match to Hazen with scores of 17-25 an 20-25. They finished up the tournament with two wins, posting the 25-21 and 25-19 win over Center-Stanton and then winning 25-16, 16-25 and 15-13 over Beulah.
