Volleyball Team Drops Matches With South Prairie And DLB
The Blue Jays’ varsity volleyball team had two matches on their schedule last week. On Tuesday, Sept. 30, they hosted the South Prairie Royals, dropping the match in straight sets. On Thursday, Oct. 2, they were on the road to face the DLB Lakers, losing that match in a hard fought five sets.
Stanley vs. South Prairie-Max
The Blue Jays hosted the number two ranked South-Prairie Max Royals on Tuesday, Sept. 30. The Royals claimed the match in straight sets with scores of 25-15, 25-16 and 25-13.
Individual stats for the Blue Jays were as follows:
Tylie Johnson led the team with 8 assists, followed by Maycee Copeland with 4.
Brenna Wenger had 4 kills, followed by Annie Roise with 3, Maycee Copeland and Payton Lystad with 2 each, and Taya Niemitalo and Khloe Jemtrud with 1 each.
Brenna Wenger had the team’s one ace.
Khloe Jemtrud had 10 digs, followed by Maycee Copeland with 9, McKenna Jones and Annie Roise with 4 each, and Karley Jemtrud and Tylie Johnson with 3 each.

Stanley vs. DLB
The Blue Jays were on the road on Thursday, Oct. 2 when they met up with the DesLacs-Burlington Lakers. This was a hard fought match with the Blue Jays taking the first set with a score of 30-28. The Lakers took the second set 25 to 19, but the Blue Jays rallied back to take the third set 25-19. After the Lakers claimed the fourth set with a score of 25 to 16, the teams headed to the fifth and deciding set. The Lakers claimed the 15 to 13 win to take the match.
Individual leaders for the Blue Jays were as follows:
Tylie Johnson led the team with 22 assists, followed by Maycee Copeland with 21, Taya Niemitalo with 2, and Karley Jemtrud and McKenzie Bohrer with 1 each.
Brenna Wenger had 14 kills, followed by Maycee Copeland with 10, Annie Roise with 9, Taya Niemitalo with 7, Karley Jemtrud with 4, McKenzie Bohrer with 3 and Payton Lystad with 1.

Khloe Jemtrud had 25 digs, followed by Maycee Copeland with 16, Karley Jemtrud with 13, McKenzie Bohrer with 12, Tylie Johnson with 7, Brenna Wenger and Annie Roise with 4 each, and Hannah Warta and Payton Lystad with 2 each.
