Volleyball Team Drops Match To Rugby, In Action In Devils Lake
The Blue Jays varsity volleyball team had just one regular season match on their schedule when they travelled to Rugby on Thursday, Sept. 25. They were in action on Saturday, Sept. 27 at the Devils Lake Tournament.

On the road on Thursday, Sept. 25, the Blue Jays met up with the Rugby Panthers. The Panthers claimed this match in straight sets with scores of 25-15, 25-19 and 25-15.
Individual stats for the Blue Jays were as follows:
Tylie Johnson led the team with 11 assists, followed by Maycee Copeland with 7.
Brenna Wenger had 7 kills, followed by Dani Hermanson with 5, Annie Roise with 3, Karley Jemtrud and Maycee Copeland with 2 each, and Taya Niemitalo, Khloe Jemtrud, Tylie Johnson and Payton Lystad with 1 each.
Karley and Khloe Jemtrud each had 1 ace.
Khloe Jemtrud had 11 digs, followed by Tylie Johnson with 9, Dani Hermanson with 8, Maycee Copeland with 7, Karley Jemtrud and McKenna Jones with 4 each, Brenna Wenger with 3, and Annie Roise with 2.
Annie Roise had the team’s one block.

Devils Lake Tournament
The Blue Jays traveled to Devils Lake for their tournament on Saturday, Sept. 27. In pool play, the Blue Jays posted a win over Velva with scores of 25-20 and 25-19. They followed that up with a win over the Devils Lake JV with scores of 25-17 and 25-16. In their final pool play match, they split with North Star with scores of 25-23 and 17-25.
That sent the Blue Jays to the tournament play where they posted the two set win over Larimore with scores of 25-13 and 25-19. In their final match, they lost to Kidder County in three sets with scores of 25-19, 16-25 and 8-15. Because the tournament did not feature a third and fourth place match, that ended their tournament action.
Individual stats for the Blue Jays were as follows:
Taya Niemitalo had 22 kills and 12 digs.
Brenna Wenger had 18 kills, 5 aces, 10 digs and 3.5 blocks.
Karley Jemtrud had 2 aces and 15 digs.
Khloe Jemtrud had 9 kills, 7 aces, 48 digs and .5 blocks.
McKenzie Bohrer had 7 kills and 6 digs.
Tylie Johnson had 5 kills, 51 assists, 4 aces and 35 digs.
McKenna Jones had 1 kill and 32 digs.
Maycee Copeland had 15 kills, 24 assists, 6 aces, 27 digs and 2 blocks.
Annie Roise had 16 kills, 4 aces, 13 digs and 5 blocks.
