Volleyball Season Ends At Regions

The Stanley varsity volleyball team entered the Region 3 tournament at the Minot State University Dome as the number five seed. In first day action on Monday, Nov. 10, they met up with the Rugby Panthers in the first game of the day.
Rugby took the first and second sets with scores of 19-25 and 19-25. The Blue Jays rallied to take sets three and four with scores of 25-18 and 26-24. That sent the teams to the fifth and deciding set with Rugby claiming the 15-13 win to advance to semifinal night.
When the tournament wrapped up on Thursday, Nov. 13, Stanley’s Danica Hermanson and Brenna Wenger were named to the All-Region team.
As a team, the Blue Jays had 38 assists, 45 kills, 10 aces, 96 digs and 5 blocks in the match.
Maycee Copeland led the team with 24 assists, followed by Tylie Johnson with 14.
Dani Hermanson led the team with 16 kills, followed by Taya Niemitalo with 13, Maycee Copeland with 6, Annie Roise with 4, Brenna Wenger with 3, Tylie Johnson with 2 and Khloe Jemtrud with 1.
Dani Hermanson had 4 aces, followed by Khloe Jemtrud and Annie Roise with 2 each, and Taya Niemitalo and Brenna Wenger with 1 each.
Tylie Johnson had 27 digs, followed by Dani Hermanson with 17, Khloe Jemtrud with 14, McKenna Jones with 13, Maycee Copeland with 12, Brenna Wenger with 5, Annie Roise with 4, Taya Niemitalo with 3, and McKenzie Bohrer with 1.
Brenna Wenger had 2 blocks, followed by Taya Niemitalo and Annie Roise 1.5 each.
