Track teams from around the area were in Watford City on Tuesday, Apr. 14 for the Watford City Early Bird. Athletes competed at the varsity and junior varsity levels.
In the boys’ varsity, Watford City was first as a team with 142 points, followed by Sidney with 129, Plentywood with 67, New Town with 60, and DLB/L&C rounding out the top five with 56. Stanley was 7th with 38 and Parshall was 13th with 17. In the junior varsity, Watford City was first with 178, followed by Williams County with 135, Sidney with 43, Powers Lake-Burke Central with 42 and Bainville rounding out the top five with 40. Stanley was sixth with 23 and Parshall was 14th with 4.
In the girls’ varsity, Nedrose was first with 94, followed by Watford City with 92, Sidney with 85, DLB/L&C with 69 and Bainville rounding out the top five with 57. Parshall was 8th with 32, Lewis and Clark (Plaza) was 10th with 27, New Town was 11th with 20 and Stanley was 13th with 17. In the junior varsity, Watford City was first with 172.5, followed by Powers Lake-Burke Central with 78, Williams County with 70, New Town with 44 and Parshall rounding out the top five with 43. Stanley was 9th with 19.

100 meters: Landon Flickinger of Plentywood was first with a time of 11.45. Parshall’s Jesse Garcia was 28th with 12.55. Lewis and Clark’s Stephen Mitchell was 47th with 14.61.
200 meters: Landon Flickinger of Plentywood was first with a time of 23.17. Stanley’s Zeke Wienbar was 5th with 24.29 and Kolton Longmuir was 9th with 24.47. Parshall’s Jesse Garcia was 21st with 25.62 and Logan Hoff was 28th with 26.20. New Town’s Jemaul Williams was 22nd with 25.64; Treyvionne Williams, 30th with 26.60; and Kaiden Cooper, 42nd with 30.92. Lewis and Clark’s Stephen Mitchell was 40th with 29.26 and Oscar Braaflat was 43rd with 33.18.

Stanley’s Logan Longmuir was 6th with 53.91; Oscar Garcia, 8th with 54.48; Zeke Wienbar, 9th with 54.54; and Kolton Longmuir, 10th with 55.05. New Town’s Jemaul Williams was 13th with 57.04 and Treyvionne Williams was 14th with 57.82. Parshall’s Brendan Haakenson was 15th with 58.15. 300m hurdles: James Odenbach of Watford City was first with a time of 41.86. Stanley’s Oscar Garcia was 5th with 44.64 and Alex Salgado was 12th with 50.78. Parshall’s Logan Hoff was 7th with 44.87 and Easton Locken was 13th with 52.73.
4x100 relay: Watford City was first with a time of 44.62. Stanley was third with a state qualifying time of 45.72. Parshall was 12th with 48.76.
4x200 relay: Watford City was first with a time of 1:34.58. Stanley was second with a state qualifying time of 1:35.09.
4x800 relay: New Town was first with a time of 8:36.26.
Shot put: Thaydan Arnold of Watford City was first with a distance of 51’0”. Lewis and Clark’s Rylan Myers was 11th with 40’1.5” and Forrest Smith was 30th with 34’7”.
Discus: Kade Samuelson of Sidney was first with a distance of 145’10”. Lewis and Clark’s Rylan Myers was 16th with 108’1” and Forrest Smith was 27th with 97’0”.

Pole vault: Morgan Reid of Sidney was first with a height of 12’0”. Stanley’s Landon Goettle was 6th with 9’0”.
