Track Season Moves To Outdoor Meets

The high school track season moved into outdoor meets last week with athletes from the area competing in the Watford City Early Bird on Tuesday, Apr. 8. This meet featured Class A and B teams from across the area.
In the girls’ varsity division, Minot took home first place with 122 points, followed by Williston with 76.5, Minot North with 57, Watford City with 56, and Killdeer rounding out the top five with 54.5. Parshall finished in 12th place with 27 team points, Stanley in 17th with 6 and New Town in 19th with 4.
In the boys’ varsity division, Minot took home first place with 185.5 points, followed by Dickinson with 90, Minot North with 56, Fairview with 47.5 and Plentywood rounding out the top five with 44.5. New Town finished in 8th with 41 team points and Stanley in 12th with 9.5.
In the girls’ junior varsity division, Watford City took home first with 130 points, followed by Minot North with 96, Dickinson with 75.5, Killdeer with 33 and Parshall rounding out the top five with 32. Stanley was 19th with 3 points and New Town was 20th with 2.
In the boys’ junior varsity division, Minot was first with 122 points, followed by Dickinson with 93, Watford City with 59, Sidney with 49 and Minot North with 48 rounding out the top five. New Town was sixth with 47.5 points, Parshall was 10th with 31 and Stanley was 19th with 2.
Boys’ Varsity
100 meters: James Pallotta of Minot was first with a time of 10.82. Stanley’s Jevon Johnson was 22nd with 12.10; Kayden Uran, 28th with 12.29; Ben Hynek, 33rd with 12.47; and Landon Hunting, 46th with 12.82. New Town’s Treyvionne Williams was 40th with 12.62 and Jemaul Williams, 48th with 12.98. Parshall’s Jesse Garcia was 42nd with 12.62.
200 meters: James Pallotta of Minot was first with a time of 22.38. Stanley’s Kayden Uran was 34th with 25.32; Ben Hynek, 45th with 26.48; and Logan Neset, 52nd with 27.05. Jemaul Williams of New Town was 44th with 26.32 and Treyvionne Williams, 49th with 26.83. Parshall’s Brendan Haakenson was 48th with 26.69, and Jesse Garcia, 56th with 28.35.
400 meters: Benjamin Harris of Minot was first with a time of 50.19. New Town’s Treyvionne Williams was 21st with 55.59; and Jemaul Williams, 27th with 56.47. Stanley’s Logan Neset was 33rd with 59.30.
800 meters: Xavier Bell of New Town was first with a time of 1:59.87; Peyton White Buffalo, 6th with 2:10.68; Kade Lambert, 8th with 2:12.66; Tekoah Hood, 8th with 2:12.66; and Louden Haugen, 23rd with 2:29.89.
1600 meters: Caleb Swisher of Dickinson was first with a time of 4:39.04. New Town’s Peyton White Buffalo was 4th with 4:51.16; Kade Lambert, 8th with 4:58.89; Tekoah Hood, 8th with 4:58.89; Lukas Spotted Bear, 20th with 5:14.17; and Louden Haugen, 22nd with 5:20.38.
3200 meters: Xavier Bell of New Town was first with a time of 10:21.45 and Tekoah Hood was sixth with 11:25.33.
110m hurdles: Logan Ludwig of Minot was first with a time of 16.25. Stanley’s Austin Kanenwisher was 6th with 18.98.
300m hurdles: Kaden Kraft of Minot was first with a time of 42.50. Oscar Garcia of Stanley was 7th with 45.03; Jevon Johnson, 10th with 46.39; and Alex Salgado, 22nd with 52.88. Brendan Haakenson of Parshall was 20th with 51.71.
4x100 relay: Dickinson was first with a time of 44.18. Stanley was 10th with 47.60.
4x200 relay: Minot was first with a time of 1:30.97. Stanley was third with 1:40.19.
4x800 relay: Bottineau was first with a time of 8:23.69. New Town was second with 8:27.84 and Stanley, 4th with 9:25.11.
Shot put: Isaac Lowery of Dickinson was first with a distance of 49-01.00. Ben Hynek of Stanley was 7th with 45-06.00; Levi Uran, 43rd with 35-01.00; Hunter Warta, 48th with 34-06.00; and Kolton Longmuir, 59th with 23-06.00. Parshall’s Rylan Myers was 54th with 31-06.00.
Discus: Blake Anderson of Minot was first with a distance of 169-04. Stanley’s Ben Hynek was 7th with 132-09; and Levi Uran, 38th with 97-10. Parshall’s Rylan Myers was 35th with 99-01.
Javelin: Lincoln Spear of KBBC was first with a distance of 160-01. Parshall’s Rylan Myers was 30th with 84-02. Stanley’s Kolton Longmuir was 37th with 59-03.
High jump: Jaxon Reese of Killdeer was first with a height of 6-02.00. Stanley’s Austin Kanenwisher was 15th with 5-04.00.
Pole vault: Blake Homiston of Dickinson was first with a height of 15-08.00. Landon Hunting of Stanley was 13th with 6-06.00.
Long jump: Max Kostelecky of Dickinson was first with a distance of 21-07.00. Jacob Roses of Stanley was 36th with 17-05.00.
Girls’ Varsity
100 meters: Jayen Atkins of Dickinson was first with a time of 12.38. Parshall’s Leah Newman was 5th with 13.23; Violet Braaflat, 27th with 14.11; Jade Alkire, 30th with 14.28; Hailey Nelson, 32nd with 14.38; Hailey Thompson, 32nd with 14.38; and Makaley Almer, 36th with 14.53. Stanley’s Teigan Moe was 37th with 14.55; Halle Larson, 40th with 14.77; and Payton Lystad, 44th with 15.66.
200 meters: Jayden Atkins of Dickinson was first with a time of 26.31. Parshall’s Leah Newman was 13th with 28.65; Hailey Thompson, 34th with 30.36; Makaley Almer, 36th with 30.49; Hailey Nelson, 39th with 31.72; and Paloma Ruiz, 46th with 34.80.
