Region 3 Tournament
Up next the Blue Jays will be in action at the Region 3 Boys’ Basketball Tournament at Minot State University.
On Tuesday, Mar. 4, South Prairie and Nedrose faced off in a play-in game for the tournament.
Action starts on Monday, Mar. 10 with the winner of that play-in game facing #1 seed DesLacs Burlington at 3:00 p.m. That will be followed by #4 Bottineau vs. #5 Dunseith. Stanley comes in seeded number two and will face #7 Turtle Mountain. Games wrap up with #3 New Town against #6 Rugby.
Looking ahead to the Region Tournament, coach Anderson said, “We face Turtle Mountain in the first round of the regional tournament. If the fans remember, we had to fight tooth and nail to secure an overtime win versus them in the regular season. They shot the ball well and made 14 three pointers on us. We hope to have a better game plan this time to try to close off driving lanes without having to over help as they made many shots off of us over-helping. We look forward to tournament time and understand that in our region...any team can win it this year.”
Semifinals will be on Tuesday, Mar. 11 starting at 6:00 p.m. Championship night starts with the third place game at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, Mar. 13, followed by the Championship game.
