Hitting A Milestone
Athletes are always looking for milestones in their high school careers. On Friday, Feb. 28, Stanley senior Drake Schlosser hit one of those milestones. Early in the first quarter, Schlosser scored his 1000th career point in basketball.
Fans were ready to celebrate the milestone with signs throughout the gym and especially in the student section.
After the game, teammates signed a commemorative banner before posing with Schlosser before leaving the gym.
Head coach Kory Anderson said, “What a night Friday was. I thought the atmosphere was great! The Pep Band was rocking, Drake was scoring, and the Blue Jays were fighting. It was fun watching Drake accomplish scoring his 1000th point. I created that club that’s in the entry way to be an example and motivation for the young athletes in the community. It’s a testament to Drake’s dedication to athletics and the amount of time he put into becoming a better player and athlete.”
