Grinstead Racing Closes Out 2024 Season
Tyson and Brennor Grinstead of Stanley have dreamed about racing cars their entire lives, from growing up at dirt tracks in Wyoming as youngsters to becoming regulars at Nodak Speedway in their adolescent and teenage years they are now living their dreams. For years you could find the boys sitting in the stands, calling out the names of their favorite drivers like stormin’ Joren Boyce, Dana Brandt, and Nathan Burke, just to name a few. They would be seen exchanging quarters as a bet on who’s driver was going to win the show.
“Today, I find myself stacking my own quarters up against them,” says their father Chris Grinstead. “The boys” are now the faces behind the helmets and the fancy driving suits that kids dream of being someday. When they drive down the road they reminisce about the best laps or the worst lap and of course, who beat who, a little brotherly rivalry always makes for a good time and sometimes a long ride home.
As November drops the final checkered flag of the season for the Grinstead Duo they have been attending the end of the year banquets. Recently, the Grinstead Racing Team was awarded Racing Family of the Year at the Nodak Speedway in Minot. Along with the Family of the Year, Brennor was awarded 2nd place in points and Tyson walking away with 9th place points finish for the IMCA hobby stock class at Nodak. Brennor also earned 2nd place in points at the McLean County Speedway in Underwood for the 2024 season this was a unique one for the team as Tyson is the sitting Vice President of the McLean County Speedway Board of Directors and was able to present his younger brother a great token of achievement.
