Golfers In Action In Crosby, Region Meet
Stanley’s varsity girls’ golfers had two meets on their schedule last week.
On Monday, Sept. 15, they were in Crosby for the Divide County meet, which was a state qualifying meet.
DLB took home first place as a team with a score of 327, followed by Kenmare/Bowbells with 350, Williams County with 383 and Stanley in fourth with 430.
The top eight golfers in this meet qualified for state. They were Laila Christianson of DLB with a 67, McKenna Mau of K/B with 79, Ava Wallin of Williams County with 82, Lauryn Christianson of DLB with 82, Ella Pearson of DLB with 83, Natasha Brekhus of K/B with 88, Brooke Livingston of K/B with 91 and Emma Sandberg of K/B with 92. Billie Sundhagen of Williams County was 9th with 94 and Cami Knutson of K/B was 10th with 94.
Individual scores for the Blue Jays were Brooklyn Weyrauch in 16th with 101; Mya Mortensen, 17th with 103; Zaelynn Aune, 18th with 103; Jackelyne Hernandez, 27th with 123; and Trinity Hynek, 35th with 139.
On Thursday, Sept. 18, the Blue Jays returned to New Town for the Region Meet. The top three teams would qualify for the State Golf Tournament, as would the top ten individual golfers who earned all region honors.
DLB took home first place as a team with a score of 327, followed by Kenmare/Bowbells with 369 and Williams County with 383 to qualify for state. Stanley was fourth with a score of 429.
Individually, Laila Christianson of DLB was first with a score of 71, followed by Ella Pearson of DLB with 77, McKenna Mau of Kenmare/Bowbells with 82, Lauryn Christianson of DLB with 84, Ava Wallin of Williams County with 85, Brooke Livingston of Kenmare/Bowbells with 90, Sharon Osteroos of DLB with 95, Ava Walen of DLB with 96, Piper Ziemann of Garrison with 97 and Cami Knutson of Kenmare/Bowbells with 97.
For the Blue Jays, Zaelynn Aune finished in eleventh with a score of 98, just one stroke shy of qualifying for state. Brooklyn Weyrauch was 18th with 102; Jackelyne Hernandez, 20th with 110; Mya Mortensen, 24th with 119; Trinity Hynek, 36th with 138; and Kylee Collins, 37th with 144.
