Cross Country Runs At NWC
The Stanley cross country team had just one meet on their schedule last week when they traveled to Kenmare for the Northwest Conference on Tuesday, Sept. 10.
In the boys’ varsity race, New Town took home first place as a team with a score of 26, followed by DLB/L&C with 49, Kenmare-Bowbells-Burke County with 70, and Trinity Christian with 76.
Gryphen Leier-Wangler of Bishop Ryan was first with a time of 17:36.83. For Stanley, Logan Longmuir was 13th with 19:59.05; Logan Neset, 15th with 20:15.24; Max Jackson, 19th with 20:53.86; and Kolton Longmuir, 21st with 21:08.05. For New Town, Xavier Bell was second with 17:37.80; Louden Haugen was 3rd with 18:26.24; Kelan Martin, 6th with 18:59.08; Kade Lambert, 7th with 19:03.33; and Creed Fox, 14th with 20:11.49.
In the boys’ junior varsity race, Kenmare-Bowbells-Burke County was first with a team score of 21 followed by DLB/L&C with 36.
Individually, Philip Ankenbauer was first with a time of 12:24.39. New Town’s Sean Lyson was second with 12:34:24; Brycen Bell, third with 13:02.27; Andres Villafuerte, 21st with 16:13.45; and Kaiden Cooper, 25th with 16:56.45.
In the girls’ varsity race, Kenmare-Bowbells-Burke County was first with a score of 30, followed by DLB/L&C with 34 and Velva-Drake/Anamoose with 56.
Individually, Brynn Hanson of DLB/L&C was first with a time of 20:39.17. Stanley’s Harley DeTienne was second with 21:19.55 and Italia Rodriguez, fifth with 23:05.33. Parshall’s Haydyn Chase was fourth with 22:20.86; Alyssa Brien, 25:13.70; and Shelbie Myers, 20th with 27:28.52.
In the girls’ junior varsity race, Kenmare-Bowbells-Burke County was first with a score of 24 followed by New Town with 31.
Individually, Tori Hale of New Town was first with a time of 13:38.67. Stanley’s Hadley Reum was eighth with 15:01.52; River DeTienne, 10th with 15:23.52; and Kaylynn Jones, 19th with 19:30.70. New Town’s Inaani Wilson was 11th with 15:44.55; Adriene Johnson, 12th with 15:48.42; Ilse Rojas, 18th with 19:20.49; and Starla McIntosh, 20th with 19:53.58.
