Cross Country Runners In Rugby

With just one meet on their schedule last week, cross country runners were in Rugby on Saturday, Oct. 4.
In the boy’s junior varsity race, Devils Lake was first with a score of 51, followed by Bottineau with 101, Griggs Midkota with 104, New Town with 105, and Tioga rounding out the top five with 178.
Individually, Draike Haugland of Devils Lake was first with a time of 11:05.14. New Town’s Dane Young Bird was 4th with 11:24.48; Jameson Irwin, 11th with 12:06.42; Greyson Lugar, 17th with 12:24.65; Elvis Hogan, 32nd with 13:27.28; and Kyson Looking Horse, 41st with 14:47.78. Stanley’s Payton  Harper was 5th with 11:43.22; and Tyson Durfee, 56th with 18:20.51. Adrias Walking Elk of Parshall was 51st with 17:07.47.
In the girls’ junior varsity race, Griggs Midkota was first with a score of 65, followed by Turtle Mountain with 110, Bottineau with 140, Grand Forks Central with 158, and DLB/L&C rounding out the top five with 168.
Individually, Kadence Spickler of Griggs Midkota was first with a time of 12:14.42. Parshall’s Manyiah Walker was 5th with 13:14.01; and Nevaeh Packineau, 26th with 14:54.94. Kalgaree Spotted Horse of New Town was 6th with 13:18.23; and Marley Danks, 19th with 14:08.64. Stanley’s Mya Anderson was 12th with 13:42.82.
In the boys’ varsity race, Devils Lake was first with a score of 130, followed by Rugby with 140, Trinity Christian with 156, New Town with 156, and Bottineau rounding out the top five with 193.
New Town’s Kade Lambert was first with a time of 16:42.32; Tekoah Hood, 7th with 17:32.75; Brycen Bell, 21st with 18:38.10; Tracy Lyson, 56th with 19:44.26; Wyatt Baker, 71st with 20:10.50; Canden Cummings, 100th with 20:54.68; Shylo Baker, 108th with 21:18.21; Rising Eagle Heart, 112th with 21:26.11; and Andres Villafuerte, 136th with 22:23.54. Stanley’s Payton Sheffield was 89th with 20:35.47; and Jason White, 96th with 20:45.53. Parshall’s Bronson Bruce was 144th with 22:53.22; and Kingston Foote, 159th with 23:53.38.
In the girls’ varsity race, Rugby was first with a score of 62, followed by Killdeer with 86, Devils Lake with 124, Bottineau with 132 and Pembina County North rounding out the top five with 146. New Town was sixth with 188 and Stanley was eighth with 224.
Individually, Summer Olson of Killdeer was first with a time of 19:19.15. Parshall’s Haydyn Chase was 7th with 20:10.37. Stanley’s Annie Roise was 15th with 21:03.82; Italia Rodriguez, 24th with 21:38.56; Jessy Roise, 40th with 22:11.82; Hadley Reum, 71st with 23:39.92; River DeTienne, 74th with 23:47.41; Teigan Moe, 112th with 26:22.72; and Kaylynn Jones, 127th with 29:05.53. New Town’s Shayla Hogan was 22nd with 21:35.54; Tori Hale, 34th with 21:59.63; Eva Knight, 35th with 22:01.22; Cedar Fitzsimmons, 42nd with 22:15.51; Parker LeBeau, 55th with 22:40.70; Adriene Johnson, 72nd with 23:41.16; Starla McIntosh, 97th with 25:16.84; Inaani Wilson, 103rd with 25:38.30; and Shaya Heart, 121st with 27:41.29.
Up Next: The Blue Jays will be at the region meet in Beulah on Saturday, Oct. 11. They are also set to run on Tuesday, Oct. 14 in Killdeer.
