Cross Country Runners At Regions

Area cross country teams were in region action at the Black Sands Golf Course in Beulah on Saturday, Oct. 11.
In the boys’ varsity race, Bowman County was first with a score of 17, followed by New Town with 74, Shiloh Christian with 142, Southern McLean with 159 and Trinity Christian with 160 to round out the top five. Stanley was 24th with a team score of 567.
Individually, Jonah Njos led four Bowman County runners with a first place time of 16.54.00. New Town’s Lukas Spotted Bear was 5th with 17:42.09; Kade Lambert, 8th with 17:55.53; Tekoah Hood, 11th with 18:02.31; Louden Haugen, 13th with 18:25.91; Brycen Bell, 38th with 20:02.00; Sean Lyson, 40th with 20:03.15; Shylo Baker, 54th with 20:25.00; Wyatt Baker, 69th with 20:56.41; Canden Cummings, 98th with 22:05.00; Tracy Lyson, 103rd with 22:14.34; Rising Eagle Heart, 129th with 23:09.84; Andres Villafuerte, 135th with 23:34.41; and Kaiden Cooper, 173rd with 28:28.69. Stanley’s Payton Harper was 71st with 21:00.91; Jason White, 121st with 22:46.18; and Payton Sheffield, 148th with 24:36.62. Parshall’s Brenden Haakenson was 122nd with 22:46.84.
In the varsity girls’ race, Bowman County was first with a team score of 29, followed by Killdeer with 76, New Town with 142, Kenmare-Bowbells with 203 and DLB/L&C rounding out the top five with 220. Stanley was 7th with 226.
Individually, Summer Olson of Killdeer was first with a time of 20:06.09. Parshall’s Haydyn Chase was 14th with 21:50.06. Stanley’s Italia Rodriguez was 20th with 22:27.31; Annie Roise, 22nd with 22:48.28; Jessy Roise, 41st with 23:43.62; Teigan Moe, 79th with 26:53.62; and Hadley Reum, 80th with 26:55.28. New Town’s Shayla Hogan was 21st with 22:43.69; Tori Hale, 26th with 23:03.72; Eva Knight, 27th with 23:04.41; Cedar Fitzsimmons, 28th with 23:09.06; Parker LeBeau, 42nd with 23:48.25; Adriene Johnson, 52nd with 24:50.66; Kalgaree Spotted Horse, 77th with 26:49.00; Marley Danks, 78th with 26:52.53; Inaani Wilson, 82nd with 27:08.91; Ilse Rojas, 95th with 28:35.59; Starla McIntosh, 97th with 28:40.75; and Shaya Heart, 115th with 32:49.94.
In the boys’ junior varsity race, New Town was first with a team score of 62, followed by Shiloh Christian with 118, Beulah with 140, Kenmare-Bowbells with 151 and Tioga rounding out the top five with 153.
Individually, Dane Young Bird of New Town was first with a time of 12:48.28; Jameson Irwin, 5th with 13:35.15; Greyson Lugar, 7th with 13:36.94; Elvis Hogan, 19th with 14:44.22; and Kyson Looking Horse, 30th with 15:57.03. Stanley’s Tyson Durfee was 47th with 19:44.56.
In the girls’ junior varsity race, Stanley was first with a score of 74, followed by Beulah with 76, Bowman County with 100, Parshall with 109 and DLB-L&C rounding out the top five with 117.
Individually, Amiah Deville of Mandaree was first with a time of 14:07.72. Stanley’s Hadley Reum was second with 14:48.34; River DeTienne, 6th with 15:13.44; Mya Anderson, 9th with 15:30.41; and Corra Parkinson, 27th with 21:16.03. Manyiah Walker of Parshall was 4th with 14:49.34; and Nevaeh Packineau, 12th with 16:05.09.

Up Next: After traveling to Killdeer on Tuesday, Oct. 14, the Blue Jays are set to run at the DLB Lakers Invitational on Friday, Oct. 17. This is the last action for the team until they head to the State Cross Country Meet.
The State Cross Country Meet is set for October 24 and 25 at Jamestown’s Parkhurst Campground/Pipestem Reservoir. The Class B races will be held on Friday, Oct. 24 starting at 2:00 p.m. with the girls’ race and the boys’ race set for 2:45 p.m. Awards will follow completion of the races. The Class A races will be held on Saturday, Oct. 25 at the same times.
