Boys End Regular Season With Win Over Rugby

Stanley’s varsity boys’ basketball team wrapped up regular season play on Friday, Feb. 28 when they hosted the Rugby Panthers. While Rugby held a four point lead at the end of the first quarter, the Blue Jays tied the game at the half. A 22 point third quarter gave the Blue Jays a good lead on their way to the 79 to 54 victory.
Head coach Kory Anderson said, “Rugby came out hitting shots early. I thought we did a good job weathering that storm and fighting together to tie the game at half time. The second half was all Stanley as Drake usually gets stronger in the second half and he did just that. We challenged our guys at halftime to fight to close out better and to contest one step closer.
