Blue Jays Run At Regions
Stanley’s cross country runners were in action at the Class B West Region Championships on Saturday, Oct. 8 at the Painted Woods Golf Course in Washburn.
The top twenty runners in both the varsity girls and boys races earned All Region Honors. For the Blue Jay girls, Lexi Neset, Harley DeTienne and Savaejah Aune earned All Region, while Colter Meiers earned that honor for the boys.
In the boys varsity race, Bowman County took home first place as a team with a score of 21, followed by New Town with 67, Beulah with 150, Southern McLean with 191 and Killdeer with 215 rounding out the top five. The Blue Jays were sixth with a score of 218.
Individually, Bowman County’s Austin Wanner was first with a time of 16:37.40 with the Bulldogs taking home the top three spots and five of the top eight. Stanley’s Colter Meiers was 17th with 18:08.27; Cohen Bell, 23rd with 18:34.79; Dayne Bruhn-Glaholt, 52nd with 19:38.80; Logan Neset, 54th with 19:52.06; Dallas Batteiger, 94th with 21:38.81; and Logan Ruud, 125th with 24:15.57.
In the girls varsity race, Bowman County again took home first with a score of 57, followed by Southern McLean with 78, Stanley with 95, Killdeer with 102 and Shiloh Christian rounding out the top five with 106.
Individually, Brynn Hanson of DLB/Lewis & Clark took home first with a time of 19:26.88. Stanley’s Lexi Neset was 11th with 21:07.25; Harley DeTienne, 13th with 21:26.05; Savaejah Aune, 19th with 22:00.65; Kaydence Vachal, 24th with 22:56.35; and Italia Rodriguez, 47th with 24:18.36.
