Blue Jays Post Win Over Surrey

The Blue Jay varsity football team was on the road on Friday, Sept. 20 as they faced off with the Surrey Mustangs. The Blue Jays came home with the 41-0 victory.
Stanley’s Drake Schlosser scored the first two touchdowns of the game in the first quarter. The first came on a 1 yard quarterback keeper with the point after kick by Jonathan Chavez good. The second was a 28 yard rush with the two point conversion by Trey Bohmbach good, leaving the score at 15-0 at the end of the first quarter.
In the second quarter, Trey Bohmbach scored on a 14 yard rush with the point after kick by Chavez again good, to leave the score at 22-0 in favor of the Blue Jays at the half.
Three more touchdowns were scored by the Blue Jays in the third quarter. The first came on a 50 yard carry by Drake Schlosser with the two point conversion attempt failing. Schlosser scored again on a nine yard quarterback keeper with the point after by Chavez failing. The final touchdown of the game came by Cohen Bell on a 45 yard rush with the point after kick by Chavez good to set the score at 41-0 in favor of the Blue Jays.
Stanley had 312 yards rushing on 27 carries and 52 yards passing, completing 8 of 12 attempts, for a total of 364 yards of offense. Surrey had 69 yards rushing on 20 carries and 29 yards passing, completing 4 of 14 passing attempts for a total of 98 yards of offense. Stanley turned the ball over once on an interception, while Surrey committed two interceptions.
Individual stats for the Blue Jays were as follows:
Rushing: Drake Schlosser had 12 carries for 194 yards and 4 touchdowns; Cohen Bell, 45 yards on 1 attempt, 1 touchdown; Casyn Bieri, 8 carries for 35 yards; Trey Bohmbach, 3 carries for 13 yards, 1 touchdown; Colter Fladeland, 1 carry for 10 yards; Kayden Uran, 1 carry for 8 yards; and Max Jackson, 1 carry for 7 yards.
Passing: Drake Schlosser completed 8 of 12 attempts for 52 yards and one interception.
Receiving: Casyn Bieri, 4 catches for 1 yard; Max Jackson, 3 catches for 43 yards; Ashton Peterson, 1 catch for 8 yards.
Special Teams:
Returns: Drake Schlosser had 2 punt returns for 42 yards, and 1 kickoff return for 41 yards.
Jonathan Chavez had 7 kickoffs for a total of 311 yards with one touchback.
