Blue Jays Host Lions For Homecoming

The Stanley Blue Jays had their homecoming game on Friday, Sept. 19. After putting one in the win column the week before, they were hoping to add to their record when they hosted the Bishop Ryan/Our Redeemer’s Lions.
The teams battled back and forth throughout the first half, with the Lions putting the only score of the game on the board in the first quarter with the point after kick good. The score at the end of the half was 7-0 in favor of Bishop Ryan/Our Redeemer’s.
The second half, however, belonged to the Lions as they put a field goal and touchdown with point after on the board in the third quarter. They followed that up with two more touchdowns in the fourth quarter to take home the 31 to 0 victory.
As a team, Stanley had 218 yards of offense, including 39 passing yards and 179 rushing yards. The Lions had 337 yards of offense, including 167 yards passing and 170 yards rushing.
Individual stats for the Blue Jays were as follows:
Passing: Kane Reep completed 4 of 14 attempts for 39 yards, with 2 interceptions.
Rushing: Kayden Uran had 138 yards rushing on 23 carries; Hunter Warta, 40 yards on 13 carries; Ben Hynek, 3 yards on 1 carry; Brayden Fritel, 1 yard on 1 carry; and Kane Reep, -3 yards on 3 carries.
Receiving: Ashton Peterson, 1 catch for 23 yards; Jevon Johnson, 11 yards on 2 catches; and Ben Hynek, 5 yards on 1 catch.
Defense: Ben Hynek, 10 tackles, 2 sacks, 2 tackles for loss; Landon Hunting, 9 tackles, 1 sack; Hunter Warta, 9 tackles; Carter Goettle, 8 tackles; Kayden Uran, 7 tackles; Jevon Johnson, 4 tackles; Denim Dunham, 3 tackles; Logan Longmuir, 3 tackles; Oscar Garcia, 2 tackles; Colter Fladeland, 1 tackle; and Ace Johnson, 1 tackle.
