Blue Jays Drop Match To Westhope
The Stanley Blue Jay varsity girls’ volleyball team had just one match on their schedule last week as they traveled to Westhope on Tuesday, Oct. 15. The Blue Jays claimed the first set by a score of 25 to 20 with Westhope coming back to take the second set 25 to 18. The next set went to extra points with the Blue Jays taking the 29 to 27 win. Westhope took the fourth set, again in extra points, with a score of 26 to 24. In the fifth and deciding set, Westhope came out on top with a score of 15 to 9 to claim the hard-fought match.
Individual stats for the Blue Jays were as follows:
Tylie Johnson had 14 assists, followed by Maycee Copeland with 13.
Jordee Skaar had 11 kills, followed by Danica Hermanson with 8, Annie Roise with 7, Brenna Wenger with 6, Trenedi Barstad with 3, and Halle Larson, Taya Niemitalo and Maycee Copeland with 2 each.
Danica Hermanson had 4 aces, followed by Taya Niemitalo and Maycee Copeland with 3 each, and Tylie Johnson with 1.
Danica Hermanson had 24 digs, followed by Tylie Johnson with 15, Halle Larson with 13, Maycee Copeland with 11, Karley Jemtrud with 10, Taya Niemitalo with 3, Jordee Skaar and Annie Roise with 2 each, and Trenedi Barstad and Brenna Wenger with 1 each.
Brenna Wenger, Annie Roise and Taya Niemitalo each had 2 blocks.

Up Next: After traveling to play Trenton on Monday, Oct. 21 and hosting MLS on Tuesday, Oct. 22, the Blue Jays will be on the road for their final regular season match on Monday, Oct. 28 when they play South Prairie with A, B and C set to play starting at 5:00 p.m. The District Tournament is set to start on Thursday, Oct. 31 in Crosby.
