Blue Jays Drop Game To Lakers

Stanley’s varsity boys’ basketball team had just one game on their schedule last week when they traveled to Burlington on Tuesday, Jan. 28 to face the Lakers with the Lakers holding on to take the 53 to 48 victory over the Blue Jays.
Head coach Kory Anderson said, “We battled hard, but had too many missed opportunities early in the paint at the beginning of the game and turned the ball over too many times late.”

The Blue Jays converted 11 of their 20 two point attempts and 7 of their 14 three point attempts. They converted 5 of their 9 free throw attempts.
They pulled down 5 offensive and 16 defensive rebounds. They had 14 assists, 4 steals and 1 block while committing 11 turnovers.
Drake Schlosser led the team with 14 points, followed by Ben Hynek with 13, Kade Snyder with 8, Austin Kanenwisher with 7, Jevon Johnson with 4 and Bennett Larson with 2.
Bennett Larson had 6 rebounds, followed by Ben Hynek with 4, Drake Schlosser, Jevon Johnson and Kade Snyder with 2 each, and Austin Kanenwisher with 1.
Bennett Larson had 5 assists, followed by Drake Schlosser with 4, Kade Snyder with 2, and Austin Kanenwisher, Ben Hynek and Jevon Johnson with 1 each.
Drake Schlosser had 2 steals, followed by Jevon Johnson and Bennett Larson with 1 each.
Ben Hynek had the team’s one block.
