Blue Jay Golfers Headed To State

The Stanley Blue Jays hosted the region golf tournament at the Prairie Rose Golf Course in Stanley on Tuesday, Sept. 17 with a trip to the state golf tournament on the line for the teams and individuals on the course.
The top three teams advance to state. DLB was first as a team with a score of 342, followed by Kenmare with 372 and Stanley with 413. Williams County fell just short of making the cut.
The top ten individuals also advance to state if they are not going as part of their team. The top ten were Laila Christianson of DLB with 72, Ella Pearson of DLB with 84, Avery Ellis of Stanley with 84, Ava Wallin of Williams County with 86, McKenna Mau of Kenmare with 87, Sharon Osteroos of DLB with 92, Charlotte Brekhus of Kenmare with 93, Lauryn Christianson of DLB with 94, Brooke Livingston of DLB with 94 and Ava Walen of DLB with 94.
When awards were presented, Avery Ellis of Stanley was named the region Senior Athlete of the Year and Ryan Albrecht of Williams County was named region Coach of the Year.

The Blue Jays were in action at Mohall on Tuesday, Sept. 24 for a scramble.
They will head to Fargo for the State Tournament on Monday, Sept. 30 and Tuesday, Oct. 1.
The Class B Girls Golf State Tournament will be held at the Fargo Country Club. Tee times and pairings will be announced prior to the event on www.ndhsaanow.com.
