Blue Jay Girls Post Win Over Beulah
Stanley’s varsity girls’ basketball team hosted Beulah on Thursday, Dec. 19 in the only game on their schedule last week. The Blue Jays got out to a good start, holding a ten point lead at the end of the first quarter and eleven at the half. A strong third quarter and early fourth quarter by the Miners brought the game close with the Blue Jays holding on to win the game by a score of 50 to 44.
As a team, Stanley made 18 of their 43 two point attempts for 42% and 2 of their 14 three point attempts for 14%. They made 8 of their 15 free throws for 53%. Beulah made 11 of their 32 two point and 4 of their 16 three point attempts. They made 10 of their 19 free throws.
The Blue Jays had 12 offensive and 23 defensive rebounds. They had 13 assists and 15 steals. They committed 23 turnovers. The Miners had 14 offensive and 29 defensive rebounds. They had 11 assists, 12 steals, 1 block and committed 30 turnovers.
Annie Roise led the team with 16 points, followed by Brinley Larson with 13, CeeJay Bohmbach with 12, Harley DeTienne with 5 and Lexi Neset with 4.
Annie Roise had 7 rebounds followed by CeeJay Bohmbach and Brinley Larson with 5 each, Harley DeTienne with 4, Taya Niemitalo with 3, and Lexi Neset, Jacee Johnson and Tylie Johnson with 2 each.
Harley DeTienne had 5 assists, followed by Taya Niemitalo, Annie Roise and Brinley Larson with 2 each, and Lexi Neset and CeeJay Bohmbach with 1 each.
Lexi Neset, Harley DeTienne, CeeJay Bohmbach and Annie Roise each had 3 steals, followed by Brinley Larson with 2 and Taya Niemitalo with 1.

Up Next: The Blue Jay girls have two games on their schedule this week. On Friday, Dec. 27, they will play in the Bomber Holiday Basketball Extravaganza in Berthold. The girls JV team will play Tioga at 3:00 p.m. in the old gym and the varsity will play Tioga at 5:00 p.m. in the new gym. On Monday, Dec. 30, the JV will play the TGU JV at 12:45 p.m. at Swain Hall and the varsity will play TGU at 2:30 p.m. at the Minot State Dome as part of the Girls Hoopster Classic.
