Blue Jay Girls Drop Two On The Road
The Blue Jay varsity girls’ basketball team had two games on the road on their schedule last week. On Monday, Jan. 13, they faced South Prairie-Max, the number one ranked team in the most recent poll, dropping the game by a score of 31 to 89. They traveled to play the New Town Eagles on Friday, Jan. 17, losing by a score of 37 to 45.
Stanley vs. South Prairie-Max
The Blue Jays were on the road facing South Prairie-Max on Monday, Jan. 13. South Prairie got out to the quick start, taking an 18 point lead at the end of the first quarter, extending it to 26 at the half on their way to the 89 to 31 victory.
The Blue Jays made 12 of their 37 two point attempts and 2 of their 17 three point attempts. They converted 1 of their 3 free throw attempts. South Prairie-Max made 31 of their 56 two point, 6 of their 21 three point, and 9 of their 20 free throw attempts.

Stanley vs. New Town
The Blue Jays traveled on Friday, Jan. 17 to face the New Town Eagles. The teams were tied at the end of the first quarter, with Stanley taking a two point lead into the half. The Eagles had a strong third quarter, taking a seven point lead on their way to the 45 to 37 victory.
As a team, Stanley made 10 of their 33 two point attempts and 2 of their 15 three point attempts. They made 11 of their 16 free throws. The Eagles made 12 of their 49 two point and 3 of their 15 three point attempts. They converted 12 of their 18 free throw attempts.

Both the JV and C squads also met up with South Prairie on Monday, Jan. 13.
The JV squad lost by a score of 16 to 73. Payton Lystad led the team with 7 points, followed by Teigan Moe with 4, Ava Stafslien with 3 and Lexi Neset with 2.
The C squad lost by a score of 12 to 48. Kennedi Murphy led the team with 6 points, followed by Jessa Longmuir, Maycee Copeland and Ava Stafslien with 2 each.
