Blue Jay Girls Drop Game To Tioga
Stanley’s varsity girls’ basketball team was in action on Friday, Dec. 27 at the Bomber Holiday Basketball Extravaganza in Berthold. They faced the Tioga Pirates, dropping the game by a score of 58 to 41. The Pirates jumped out to a ten point lead at the end of the first quarter and used a strong fourth quarter to secure the victory.
As a team, Stanley made 10 of their 44 two point attempts for 23% and 5 of their 17 three point attempts for 29%. They converted 6 of their 11 free throw attempts for 55%. Tioga made 17 of their 42 two point and 4 of their 13 three point attempts. They made 12 of their 20 free throw attempts.
The Blue Jays had 14 offensive and 25 defensive rebounds. They had 11 assists, 12 steals and 1 block. They committed 24 turnovers. The Pirates had 10 offensive and 31 defensive rebounds. They had 13 assists, 19 steals, 4 blocks and committed 22 turnovers.
Annie Roise led the team with 12 points, followed by Taya Niemitalo with 10, Brinley Larson with 8, CeeJay Bohmbach with 4, Teigan Moe with 3, and Lexi Neset and Harley DeTienne with 2 each.
