Blue Jay Boys Post Win Over South Prairie
The Blue Jay football team was on the road on Friday, Sept. 26 to face South Prairie-Max. The team was looking to post another win for the season.
This was a game that belonged to the Blue Jays from the start. They got on the board in the first quarter on a 58 yard pass from Kane Reep to Ben Hynek with the Francisco Rodriguez point after kick good.
Both teams scored in the second quarter. Stanley scored on an 11 yard pass from Kane Reep to Jevon Johnson with the Francisco Rodriguez kick good. South Prairie-Max scored on an 19 yard rush with the two point conversion failing to leave the score at 14 to 6 in favor of the Blue Jays at the half.
In the third quarter, Stanley scored on a 48 yard rush by Kayden Uran with the two point conversion attempt failing. Austin Kanenwisher scored on a 24 yard pass from Kane Reep with the Francisco Rodriguez kick good to leave the score at 27 to 6 at the end of the third quarter.
South Prairie-Max scored first in the fourth quarter on a one yard rush with the two point conversion failing. Kolton Longmuir scored on a 26 yard pass from Kane Reep with the point after kick from Francisco Rodriguez good. The final score of the game came on a 37 yard rushing touchdown by Hunter Warta with the point after kick by Francisco Rodriguez good. That set the final score at 41 to 12 in favor of the Blue Jays.
As a team, the Blue Jays had 210 rushing yards and 159 yards passing, compared to 185 yard rushing and 73 yards passing for South Prairie-Max. Both teams had two turnovers, with Stanley recovering two fumbles by South Prairie-Max. The Blue Jays turned the ball over twice, once on a fumble and once on an interception.
