Blue Jay Boys Drop Two Games

Stanley’s varsity boys’ basketball team had two games on their schedule last week. On Friday, Feb. 6, they were in action at Turtle Mountain, dropping the game by a score of 29 to 72. On Saturday, Feb. 7, they hosted Powers Lake, dropping the game by a score of 25 to 67.
As the Blue Jays faced Turtle Mountain on Friday, the Braves held a 36 to 18 lead at the half on their way to the 72 to 29 victory.
Jevon Johnson led the team with 15 points, followed by Ashton Peterson with 11, Tyke Barstad with 3, and Henry Sorenson and Kolton Longmuir with 2 each.

At home on Saturday, Feb. 7, the Blue Jays were host to the Powers Lake Ranchers. It was a two point game at the end of the first quarter, with Stanley trailing by just two. Powers Lake, however put up 28 points in the second quarter while holding the Blue Jays to just three on their way to the 67 to 25 win.
Jevon Johnson led the team with 16 points, followed by Ashton Peterson with 6 and Tyke Barstad with 3.
