Area Athletes Shine At State Track

The State Track Meet was held at the Community Bowl in Bismarck from Thursday, May 22 through Saturday, May 24. The event included competitions in track and field in both Class A and Class B.
In the Class B boys’ division, Bowman County took home the team title with 62 points, followed by Northern Cass with 59, Kindred with 57.5, Hazen with 48 and Harvey/Wells County rounding out the top five with 32. New Town finished in seventh with 30 team points and the Blue Jays were 18th with 15 team points.
In the Class B girls’ division, Hillsboro Central took home the team title with 58 points, followed by Bowman County with 52, Oak Grove Lutheran with 49, Central McLean with 47 and Shiloh Christian rounding out the top five with 40.5
Stanley and New Town both had multiple state placers this year.
The Blue Jays’ Drake Schlosser finished third in both the 110m hurdles and the 300m hurdles. Ben Hynek placed 8th in the discus. The boys’ 4x400 relay team with members Logan Longmuir, Oscar Garcia, Zeke Wienbar and Drake Schlosser finished in seventh.
The Eagles’ Xavier Bell finished second in the 800m run, third in the 1600m run and third in the 3200m run. Lukas Spotted Bear placed seventh in the 1600m run. Their 4x800 relay placed second with members Lukas Spotted Bear, Kade Lambert, Treyvionne Williams and Xavier Bell.
Individual Boys Results:
In the boys’ 110m hurdles, Tallen Thorson of Harvey/Wells County was first with a time of 14.66. Stanley’s Drake Schlosser finished third with a time of 15.77 and Austin Kanenwisher was 18th with 18.47.
In the 200m dash, Jaran Reinhardt of Hazen was first with a time of 21.78 in finals. Stanley’s Drake Schlosser was 13th with a time of 23.04.
In the 300m hurdles, Tallen Thorson of Harvey/Wells County was first with a time of 38.56. Stanley’s Drake Schlosser finished third with a time of 40.08.
In the 400m dash, Jaran Reinhardt of Hazen was first with a time of 48.62 in finals. Stanley’s Logan Longmuir finished 27th with a time of 53.91.
In the 800m run, Taylor Wanner of Bowman County was first with a time of 1:52.90. New Town’s Xavier Bell finished second with a time of 1:54.05; Lukas Spotted Bear, 9th with 1:59.64; Treyvionne Williams, 17th with 2:04.36; and Kade Lambert, 25th with 2:06.71.
In the 1600m run, Taylor Wanner of Bowman County was first with a time of 4:18.49. New Town’s Xavier Bell finished third with a time of 4:22.22; Lukas Spotted Bear, 7th with 4:32.32; and Kade Lambert, 19th with 4:45.69.
In the 3200m run, Taylor Wanner of Bowman County was first with a time of 9:25.56. New Town’s Xavier Bell finished third with a time of 10:06.59; Lukas Spotted Bear, 11th with 10:06.59; Tekoah Hood, 13th with 10:15.46; Kade Lambert, 16th with 10:21.47; and Brycen Bell, 26th with 11:17.37.
In the 4x100 relay, Northern Cass was first with a time of 42.75 in finals. Stanley finished 27th with a time of 46.75 with team members Oscar Garcia, Kolton Longmuir, Jevon Johnson and Kayden Uran.
In the 4x200 relay, Hazen was first with a time of 1:28.15 in finals. Stanley finished in 21st with a time of 1:35.25 with team members Oscar Garcia, Zeke Wienbar, Kolton Longmuir and Logan Longmuir.
In the 4x400 relay, Hazen was first with a time of 3:24.06. Stanley finished seventh with a time of 3:31.65 with team members Logan Longmuir, Oscar Garcia, Zeke Wienbar and Drake Schlosser. New Town was 25th with a time of 3:43.40 with team members Treyvionne Williams, Tekoah Hood, Louden Haugen and Jemaul Williams.
In the 4x800 relay, Bowman County was first with a time of 8:05.05. New Town finished second with a time of 8:10.34 with team members Lukas Spotted Bear, Kade Lambert, Trevionne Williams and Xavier Bell. Stanley finished in 13th with a time of 8:47.94 with team members Max Jackson, Jacob Roses, Logan Neset and Logan Longmuir.
In the discus, Chase Cooper of Wyndmere-Lidgerwood was first with a distance of 157’0”. Stanley’s Ben Hynek finished eighth with a distance of 140-08.
In the pole vault, Trevon Quam of Central Cass was first with a height of 13’9”. Max Jackson, Landon Hunting and Landon Goettle competed, but did not hit the opening height.
In the shot put, Carter Engebretson of Benson County was first with a distance of 55’8”. Ben Hynek finished in eighteenth with a distance of 43-09.50.
Individual Girls Results:
In the 100m dash, Anya Olson of Velva-Drake/Anamoose was first with a time of 11.56 in finals. Parshall’s Leah Newman finished in 29th with a time of 13.35.
In the girls 100m hurdles, Chloe Woinarowicz of Grafton was first with a time of 14.86 in finals. Stanley’s Jessa Longmuir finished 19th with a time of 17.66.
In the 1600m run, Claire Grinde of Hillsboro/Central Valley was first with a time of 5:06.96. Parshall’s Haydyn Chase finished in 22nd with a time of 5:42.05.
In the 3200m run, Claire Grinde of Hillsboro/Central Valley was first with a time of 11:01.81. Parshall’s Haydyn Chase finished in 22nd with a time of 12:27.46.
In the 4x100 relay, Oak Grove Lutheran was first with a time of 49:11 in finals. Parshall finished in 31st with a time of 53.90 with team members Violet Braaflat, Hailey Nelson, Hailey Thompson and Leah Newman.
In the 4x200 relay, Oak Grove Lutheran was first with a time of 1:43.89 in finals. Parshall finished in 24th with a time of 1:51.30 with team members Makaley Almer, Jade Alkire, Hailey Thompson and Leah Newman.
In the 4x800 relay, Hillsboro/Central Valley was first with a time of 9:48.44. Stanley finished in eighteenth with a time of 10:36.23 with team members Teigan Moe, Italia Rodriguez, Jessy Roise and Harley DeTienne.
In the pole vault, Lexi Harris of Oakes was first with a height of 10’6”. Payton Lystad of Stanley competed but did not hit the opening height.
