Walls Going Up For New Pool Building

Walls Going Up For New Pool Building

Masonry for the new bathhouse was revealed last week as the first of the shelters for that work were removed. Work on those walls will continue, but seeing the first of the walls was a visible step towards the project that will bring a new pool to Wilson Park.
Shelter for the masonry work started in February. Masons started to lay out and lay block, while Roers is installing HM frames as the mason progresses. The masons will lay up one shelter at a time. They anticipate each shelter will take about two weeks to lay block and there should be about four sets of shelters during the building work.
Mechanical and electrical crews will be onsite as needed to get RI done in the CMU walls. Roof truss delivery and installation will be scheduled as masonry work is completed. The remaining pool work will resume in the spring when temperatures allow.
The Stanley Park District members and the pool committee continue with their fundraising efforts. A Facebook page has been set up for the Stanley ND Pool Project to keep people updated on the project as well as providing information for any fundraising events.
As a 501(c)3, donations to the project will be tax deductible. As always, donors should consult with their tax professionals if they are looking to use the tax deduction.
Donations can be mailed to the Park District or dropped off at Bravera Bank. When sending donations, the Park District asks that donors note in the memo line of a check that it is for the pool project.
