Stanley High School Student Inspires Community Spirit With Service Project

Aryanna C., a National Honor Society member from Stanley High School, has completed an exceptional service project that has left a lasting impact on both the community and the younger generation. Rather than focusing on a single act of service. Aryanna aimed to instill a lifelong commitment to giving back in others.
“I didn’t just want to do one community service project,” Aryanna explained. “I wanted to teach the younger generation to do community service, so that the cycle of service could continue.”

Over the course of three weeks, Aryanna worked closely with a group of fourth, fifth, and sixth graders to plan a Christmas party for the residents of Rosen Place Assisted Living Home. Aryanna served as a mentor, guiding the younger students through the process of planning, fundraising, gathering supplies, and implementing the event.
“I just let the kids take the lead,” Aryanna said.
With her guidance, the students secured sponsorship from Bravera Bank, which provided financial support for the party, and BNC, which donated supplies. The group organized an afternoon filled with festive activities, including cookie decorating and games with the residents.
The project not only brought holiday cheer to Rosen Place but also sparked enthusiasm among the younger students. One remarked, “This was actually a lot of fun. I’d like to do something like this again next year.”
Aryanna’s efforts have set an inspiring example, demonstrating how service can be both impactful and sustainable. By empowering younger students to take ownership of the project, she has ensured that the spirit of giving back will continue to thrive in the community for years to come.
And so, the cycle of community service continues.
