Stanley FFA Hosts Carnival

The Stanley FFA chapter brought the community together on Sunday, October 13, with a vibrant carnival at the Mountrail County Fair building. Organized and run entirely by FFA members, the event served as a fundraiser to support the chapter’s trips and competitions throughout the year. A solid turnout of local families and supporters helped make it a success.
Attendees were treated to a variety of attractions and activities. The mechanical bull ride was a crowd favorite, offering thrills as FFA officers and guests took turns seeing how long they could stay on. The dunk tank provided plenty of laughter and good-natured fun, giving carnival-goers the opportunity to send this year’s FFA officers into a splash. Meanwhile, the petting zoo, featuring a variety of farm animals like pigs, cows, horses, sheep, and goats, offered younger visitors a chance to get up close with the animals, providing both educational and entertaining experiences.
A range of games kept the atmosphere lively, with participants competing for tickets to win prizes. The “punch a prize” game challenged guests to find hidden rewards, while the ball toss, ring toss, and bottle-flip contests tested their aim and dexterity. The Plinko drop game added an element of chance, as players watched where their ball would land, and the balloon dart throw gave everyone a chance to show off their skills. For a unique farm-themed twist, the carnival featured three rounds of chicken poop bingo, where guests eagerly waited to see where the chickens would mark their spots.
Throughout the carnival, tickets earned from the games could be exchanged for an assortment of prizes, including T-shirts, water bottles, snacks, and other fun items. Concessions offered a variety of food and drinks, ensuring that attendees could enjoy a full day of activities without going hungry.
Reflecting on the day’s success, FFA advisor Bailey Hawbaker expressed gratitude for the community’s involvement. “We are very thankful for the support we received from this event,” she said. “It’s great to see everyone come together to help our chapter fundraise for the year’s activities.” The Stanley FFA chapter also extended thanks to all those who attended, volunteered, and contributed to making the carnival a memorable and fruitful occasion.
As the chapter looks ahead to future trips and competitions, the funds raised at the carnival will help ensure that members can take full advantage of opportunities to grow, learn, and represent their community in FFA events.
