Stanley FFA Celebrates National FFA Week

Stanley FFA members proudly celebrated National FFA Week this past week with several events for the occasion.
The week kicked off with a hat week fundraiser at both schools to raise money for the Jemtrud family, along with an alumni highlight on our social media pages. At the high school, ducks were hidden around the school for students to find on Monday. On Tuesday, students received a bingo card and needed to get signatures from members who had participated in different events to receive a prize. Wednesday was a busy day for our members as they planned interactive lessons for the elementary school classes to learn about agricultural commodities and they enjoyed treats that were made from the commodity that they learned about. On Thursday, members and staff at the high school were treated to a BBQ which was sponsored by Mountrail County Farmers Union. On Friday, the officers planned an Ag Olympics at both the high school and elementary school, where students played agricultural-related games such as musical buckets, barrel racing, bale toss, and many more. Along with the Ag Olympics, our officers planned a “Chuck a Tractor” event at the boys’ basketball game, where Gooseneck Implement donated stress ball tractors to be thrown, and the winners received a nice toy tractor!
The week wrapped up by having eight of our members compete at the West River Judging Contest in Beulah; they found success as the Jr FFA Agronomy team brought home a first-place finish, and the livestock judging team placed 5th overall. Thank you to all who helped make National FFA Week a success.
