Stanley FFA At 98th National FFA Convention

Stanley FFA had eighteen members at the 98th National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, IN, on October 29 through November 1. Our members joined over 73,000 FFA members and guests, taking in general sessions, workshops, networking opportunities, a rodeo, and a concert.
Stanley FFA had four members compete in the Horse Evaluation contest, where they judged eight classes, gave four sets of reasons, and then tested their general horse knowledge. The members came out successful with a silver placing as a team, and Marli Honrud received gold individual honors, Rebecca Littlefield received silver individual honors and received a certification in NHJTCA Equine Management and Evaluation, Sidney Enerson and Ziva Ottesen also came out of the contest with silver individual honors. The team would like to thank everyone for their support and their coaches, Ilene Enerson and Katie Woodbury, for helping them with their success.
Jocelyn Vachal was able to walk across the big stage at the convention to receive her American Degree. This is the highest degree bestowed upon an FFA member. To receive this degree, members must have kept financial records for their Supervised Agricultural Experience, earned and invested at least $10,000, or earned at least $1,500 along with 2,250 hours in a placement SAE, and complete at least fifty hours of community service. We would like to congratulate Jocelyn on this big accomplishment and thank her for her time in Stanley FFA.
Along with the horse judging team and Jocelyn, we had thirteen members attend the conference. These members were able to take in all that the convention offered, from networking with businesses and colleges, attending sessions and workshops, and attending the FFA only Ella Langley and Ernest concert and rodeo.
Thank you to our community members who supported our golf tournament and wreath and raffles sales to allow our members this opportunity.
