Stanley FBLA Hosts CPR Demonstration

Stanley FBLA Hosts CPR Demonstration

On October 11, 2024, the Stanley Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) Chapter joined forces with the American Heart Association to promote an essential life-saving skill: hands-only CPR. This event took place before the high school football game, where attendees had the opportunity to learn how to perform CPR effectively and sign a commitment heart pledging to act in the event of a medical emergency.
From 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., volunteer project coordinators Ella Mortensen, Mya Mortensen, and Jackelyne Hernandez demonstrated the vital steps of hands-only CPR. Participants were taught that immediate action can significantly increase the chances of survival for someone experiencing cardiac arrest. With statistics showing that nearly 350,000 cardiac arrests occur outside of hospitals each year, the need for widespread CPR knowledge is more critical than ever.
For more information on how to get involved with the Stanley FBLA Chapter or to learn more about CPR training, visit the American Heart Association website or contact the school’s FBLA adviser. Together, we can create a safer community, one heartbeat at a time.
