Skyline Precision AG Offers Services For Producers

Griffin Wilhelmi provided a demo for his spray drones for students in the Stanley High School Ag classes on Tuesday, May 19. Students were able to see the drone up close and ask questions about his business.
Wilhelmi decided to start Skyline Precision AG mainly because the opportunity was just too good to pass up. Shortly after he graduated high school, he started work at the Mountrail County Weed Board. While working there, like his brother Jack did before him, he began talking to Jim Hennessy about drone spraying. He showed him areas where these machines would excel, but at the same time, it was still out of his reach because he still didn’t know a lot about the industry.

This changed when he got to college and met Logan Anderson who is running his own drone spraying company in Minnesota. He was looking to sell off his old drones for new ones for this upcoming year. This was a realization moment for Wilhelmi because he had someone to learn from and someone who was already good at running these drones. Anderson helped him figure out the documentation and licensing he needed to do this. He was a huge help, and with support from people like Jim, Jack, and Logan, it turned out to be pretty achievable for Wilhelmi.
The services he offers are application to pastures, crops, and gravel pits. The equipment he is using to spray is two XAG P100 Pro drones and a custom-built spray trailer with a flight deck. This is so he can land and fill on top of the trailer. The training he has for this job include a state pesticide license, Part 107 UAS pilots license, Part 137, and exemptions.
