Property Fraud Protection Alerts Available

You can now receive Fraud Alert Notifications regarding all your Land Recordings in Mountrail County.
We are pleased to announce the launch of our New Fraud Alert program.
The Mountrail County Recorder is offering free of service a fraud protection program that allows you to receive an alert anytime a document is recorded in your name. This alert will send you an email that a document has been recorded and then you are able to sign up for our online vault to view or come into our office and view the documents.
Constituents have the ability to view indexed information for the recorded document in question, or an image of the actual document if they have a paid subscription with the county, by clicking the hyperlink within their automated email alert.
Automated alerts can be set up across multiple jurisdictions, as long as those jurisdictions utilize iDoc Market. North Dakota right now has Mountrail County, Williams County and Dickey County that are utilizing iDoc Market.
Detailed alert history located within iDoc Market allows constituents to look at previous alerts and use hyperlinks to view images of the recorded documents.
What is property fraud?
Property fraud is a growing white-collar crime where thieves record documents against your property in an effort to establish ownership for financial gain.
How can I protect myself?
Be vigilant and subscribe to our free Document Alert service.
How does Document Alert work?
Document Alert sends you an automated email alert any time a document is recorded in our office using your name or property’s parcel number. You then decide if the recording is legitimate or fraudulent and take the necessary actions.
What does this mean for you?
Mountrail County Recorder wants you to stay informed with the documents that are being recorded with your name on them. We have a website www.servnd.org where you are able to sign up and receive these Alerts for free.
To sign up, go to www.servnd.org and select Mountrail County. In upper right-hand corner, you will see DOCUMENT ALERTS click on there and it will set up an account with your email and name. Go into your email and click setup. Once you have done that, you will log into your account. Click again onto Document Alerts and a Disclaimer will come up where you will submit your names that you want our system to check daily for you.
Then you will either be able to use our online vault or come into the office and view the documents. If you didn’t already know, we do have a virtual vault of our records that can be accessed 24/7 through www.iDocMarket.com.
