Pinnacle Receives VR Business Award
Pinnacle Travel Plaza in Stanley received an honorable mention award from Vocational Rehabilitation as they recognized their 2024 VR Business Awards. The business award supports and celebrates the businesses that support the VR mission to support, develop and inspire people with disabilities to achieve their full potential. The VR Business Award honors a business that strives toward the highest level by devoting time and energy to work with ND Vocational Rehabilitation and their community in a meaningful way.
To be eligible, a business must meet each of three criteria: demonstrate excellence, creativity and initiative in their business or profession; provide a valuable service to improve the quality of life for others in the community through community service; and assist people with disabilities in reaching their employment goal and in maintaining competitive and integrated employment.
All nomination forms are reviewed by members of the State Rehabilitation Council with one statewide business award winner named along with honorable mentions.
Pinnacle Travel Plaza in Stanley was nominated having employed many individuals with disabilities. Several clients have worked at the Pinnacle Travel Plaza and Pinnacle Express. The nomination notes that supervisors have gone above and beyond to help them maintain their employment as well as working to help with job success.
Pinnacle also has an accessible entry and sales floor, as well as a ramp so people can get to lower areas of the store. They are family oriented and realize that even though you have a job to do, family comes first. They also offer a training program to all staff to ensure that staff and supervisors are trained in diversity.
