NWLA Annual Meeting Set
The Northwest Landowners Association will hold their annual meeting on Monday, Dec. 15 starting at 10:00 a.m. at the Mountrail County South Complex in Stanley.
The event is open to NWLA members and the general public. It offers an opportunity to learn about the issues that affect your property, your community, and your family’s future. Worried about rising electricity costs, land development, or environmental risks? The meeting will provide expert updates and practical advice on property rights, local energy projects, radioactive waste concerns and critical minerals development.
Speakers will include Derrick Braaten, general counsel for the NWLA, who will cover the most recent lawsuit update and an open forum for landowner questions. There will be a representative from Basin Electric to cover future power needs, projected costs, and impacts on local property owners. A Rugby area property owners panel will discuss concerns about potential future radioactive waste and community impacts. A representative of the ND Department of Mineral Resources will provide an overview of rare earth elements, critical minerals, and related development topics.
The meeting is free for members with a fee for non-members and includes lunch. You are invited to come with questions and leave informed.
