New Town HarvestFest Is October 5

The New Town HarvestFest on Saturday, Oct. 5, will be the closing event for the Farmers Market season and the kick-off of our grateful season. The event is scheduled at the Northern Lights, 710 East Ave., New Town.
The day will include a number of events running from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
That includes Harvest Share. If you have excess fruits and vegetables during this harvest, you can bring them to the “Harvest Share” table instead of letting it go to waste. The initial donations will be sponsored by the NHSC Holistic Gardening & Wellness Community. For additional information, please contact Dorothy Ventsch at 701-627-4293.
There will be a Vendor Show. The Vendor Show is free admission for vendors, but you must pre-register by October 1. For additional information please contact Gisele Carter at 216-804-4262 or Jessica Uran at 307-679-8687.
Face painting and bounce houses will be sponsored by the New Town Chamber. NDSU Extension and 4-H Mountrail County will have an activity booth. This includes a take home activity with a binary code bracelet, key chain and Christmas ornaments.
A pumpkin decorating contest will be sponsored by Dakota West Credit Union. The Library is working with 3 age groups: 3 and 4 years old; 5 to 8 years old; and 9 to 18 years old. For schedule details or further information, call the New Town Library at 701-627-4849. No carving is allowed for the contest.
