New Town HarvestFest Held

New Town HarvestFest Held

The annual New Town HarvestFest was held October 4th with a total of thirty-three vendors. They came from twenty-nine different cities in North Dakota, two from Canada and one from South Dakota. We had several options for food, including a soup sale by “Ziiska Weas & Brew Chixx”, “Mama Mac’s Kitchen” food truck and another with “Home Cooked” Filipino cuisine.
If you stopped at the Cornerstone Bank booth you had the chance to cast a line and win a treat in their fishing game, and they also offered face painting. RTC Networks sponsored the cookie decorating station and gave away jars of jam in celebration of Co-op Month. Mountrail Williams Electric Co-op sponsored the photo booth by Tami Johnson from Parshall. If you stopped at Reynolds Insurance Agency, you had the chance to play activity bingo and Connect 4 and grab a cup of coffee and a bag of popcorn. The 4-H and NDSU booth promoted hands-on STEAM activities for the kids, the New Town City Library had a pumpkin painting station, and NHS Community College had an information booth with a yard size Jenga game.
Getting’ Out Dodge Band was a hit and it was sponsored by Chord Energy.
The NHSC Holistic Gardening and Wellness Community sponsored the Harvest Share, and donated a wonderful assortment of fruits and vegetables that was shared with many grateful recipients. There were also donations from other community members with excess produce.
Thank you to all the organizations involved in this event, to all the vendors, to the community that showed up, to North Segment that made the Northern Lights Wellness Center space available, and especially to all the sponsors that made this possible. Sponsors include Chord Energy, Mountrail Williams Electric Co-op, RTC Networks, and Cornerstone Bank.
Contest winners will follow next week.
